Mannings Hotel

Mannings Hotel

8/10 Good
"Hotel is lovely , staff very friendly and professional. Breakfast? Saturday morning breakfast between 7.30-9.30 am, which is fine , only when we came in to have breakfast the wait was five minutes to be seated , no hot water no coffee , then told they were clearing the buffet away in 5 minutes people were still coming in for breakfast at the dead line 9.30 am , but they were packing away the food ??? Usually 9.30 or the time your told is the latest to be seated not they pack up the food ???? Never come across this anywhere before . So what guests should be told is there is no breakfast after 9.30 so don’t bothered coming in at 9.30 am . Very disappointing."

Hotel VARA

Hotel VARA

8/10 Good
"Hotel VARA is a really nicely renovated hotel. The staff were lovely and helpful and accommodated our very late check-in with no problem. We also ate dinner there, and the food was pretty nice for hotel food. They also provided a bottle of chilled water, which tasted delicious after coming from London. As other people have mentioned, it's not the most mobility-friendly place to stay. We ended up with a room with a bath only and no shower stand for the shower head. The hotel is also a up a hill, so if you are coming from the station, it's a bit of a climb. However, it's only 10 min into town and about 15 to the station since it's downhill."

Donnington Guest House

Donnington Guest House

8/10 Good
"The property was nice, quite a walk from town, but that’s just how it is in Truro. My room was on the top floor and I had a lovely view of Truro Cathedral! While my shower was in the room, the toilet was across the hall. Not a big deal except there was a room right next to mine and I felt like I was disturbing them with early morning trip to the toilet and noisy doors. What I didn’t like was that all the outlets were at floor level, so the cord from the kettle couldn’t reach from the little table.I had to put it on the chair to brew. Also, very noisy plumbing. Overall, a nice stay. It was certainly worth the price!"

4 tips for savvy savings when booking a hotel in Truro

  1. Book for the cheapest times: The most budget-friendly time to visit Truro is in January, February, and November, when hotel prices tend to be lower. For a great value for money experience, it is recommended to stay for at least 2 to 3 days to fully appreciate the town's historic landmarks, cultural attractions, and picturesque countryside. You can enjoy friendly locals, explore charming gardens, relax at riverside spots, and visit the local library and theatre. Don't forget to indulge in some delightful chocolate and sip coffee at a quaint bar, all while absorbing the essence of this small town.
  2. Look for last-minute deals on Hotels.com: To discover last-minute deals to Truro, visit the DealsOpens in a new window or Last-Minute Deals section on Hotels.com, where you may find discounted rates on hotels as your travel date approaches. By enabling email alerts or push notifications, you could stay informed about flash sales and special promotions, ensuring you don’t miss opportunities to save. Additionally, the Smart Shopping tool on the app allows you to compare hotel prices and amenities, helping you make informed choices. With these features, you're more likely to be the first to know about price drops or availability changes for your preferred hotels.
  3. Be flexible with dates: Prices can fluctuate based on factors such as the hotel's location, star rating, and time of year, so being flexible with your dates may help you save on your stay in a Truro hotel. For those seeking distinctive accommodations, boutique hotels can provide a more personalised experience and sometimes better value. When you book through Hotels.com, we'll inform you whether the price for your chosen dates is above or below the average. If the price is on the higher side, we’ll suggest alternative dates that could be more affordable, helping you find the best deal.
  4. Consider your location: Hotels situated near the city centre generally tend to be pricier; however, with Truro's superb public transport connections, you may discover a more affordable independent hotel a bit further out that remains well connected. For those keen to explore alternative, less populated neighbourhoods or even lesser-known nearby towns, there is often excellent value for money to be found. Opting for these alternative destinations could provide a more authentic and budget-friendly experience.
