4 tips for savvy savings when booking a hotel in Dundee

  1. Book for the cheapest times: The most affordable time to visit Dundee is during January, February, and December, when hotel prices may drop. For an enriching experience of the city's landmarks, history, and culture, it's recommended to stay for at least 2 to 3 days. This duration allows visitors to explore budget-friendly attractions such as museums, historical monuments, and vibrant dining options. Additionally, guests can enjoy the warmth of friendly locals, partake in golf, unwind at spas, and engage in sightseeing, shopping, and tours—all offering great value for money.
  2. Look for last-minute deals on Hotels.com: To discover last-minute deals to Dundee, visit the DealsOpens in a new window or Last-Minute Deals sections on Hotels.com, where you may find discounted rates on hotels as your travel date approaches. Additionally, consider enabling email alerts or push notifications from Hotels.com to stay informed about flash sales and special promotions, increasing your chances of saving. The Smart Shopping tool available via the app allows you to compare hotel prices and amenities, ensuring that if rooms become available or prices drop, you're more likely to see these updates first and secure your last-minute getaway.
  3. Be flexible with dates: Prices may fluctuate based on factors such as the hotel's location, star rating, and the time of year, so being flexible with your travel dates could enable you to save on your stay at a hotel in Dundee. If you're seeking a distinctive experience, boutique hotels often provide a more personalised touch and can sometimes offer better value. When you book through Hotels.com, we’ll inform you whether the price for your chosen dates is above or below the average. If the price is on the higher end, we’ll suggest alternative dates that could help you secure a better deal.
  4. Consider your location: Hotels in proximity to the city centre usually tend to be more expensive, but thanks to Dundee's excellent public transport connections, you might discover a more affordable independent hotel located a bit further out that remains well linked. For those keen on exploring alternative, less crowded neighbourhoods or even lesser-known nearby towns, there is often great value to be found. Opting for these alternative destinations could provide a more authentic and budget-friendly experience.
