The Rock Inn Hotel (Pub & Restaurant)

8/10 Good
"The Rock Inn is a beautiful, old pub, set in the stunning Somerset countryside. The huge trees surrounding the pub offered fantastic shade during the recent heat wave, keeping my room pleasantly cool. Housekeeping during my stay was not great, but, as the cost of my four night stay was so cosy effective, willing to overlook, but, would have appreciated the bin being emptied at least every other day, a fresh towel every other day & complimentary tea & long life milk being topped up. Really enjoyed staying at the pub, highly recommended."

Wookey Hole Hotel

Wookey Hole Hotel

10/10 Excellent
"When booking I didn't realise the hotel was right next to the ticket office to Wookey Hole Caves, what a bonus. Checking in was easy and the staff were very informative. After a busy day we decided to have dinner in the hotel restaurant. You do have to reserve in advance but the staff went the extra mile and fitted us in, we were very thankful due to having an exhausted and hungry child. We couldn't fault the meal, we all thoroughly enjoyed it. The family room was a good size, including two single beds and a double, all comfortable for firmer beds. The room was clean and had everything we needed. We didn't hear any other guests, I believe it was busy due to the school holidays. We had breakfast at the hotel, you also need to pre book. Its self service, there was lots to choose from, freshly cooked full English, cereals, fruit, croissants etc. We filled up for the day. We found all the staff to be polite, helpful and as I said previously, they went the extra mile. How refreshing to come across good customer service. Thank you."

Savoy Hotel

Savoy Hotel

10/10 Excellent
"We wanted a cheap overnight stay last minute and booked this hotel. It is actually a newer building to the savoy (but the same chain). It still smells of fresh paint. We got what we wanted with this hotel. All the amenities available, clean room, bedding and linen, the shower was hot. There was a TV with remote, wifi access and a kettle (plus some complimentary tea and coffee). The hotel has a few limited parking spaces outside (for £10). It has a feeling of being secure, with a key code access after a certain time at night. Its a stones throw from the beach and a 24 hour car park. The host Ali was very welcoming and seems like a very decent guy. Very helpful and gave us some good recommendations. If you want something clean, good location and good for the price I would definitely recommend this place and we will definitely use next time we are down. Thanks very much"

8/10 Good
"We were greeted by friendly staff on arrival with lots of fuss made over our dog. We booked a family room ( not sure we were allocated the room we booked) and were allocated room 1. The room was very small and didn’t have any kind of view. We had to switch the air conditioning off because it was very noisy. Room looked a bit tired. Lovely basket with dog treats, dog bowl and poo bags left for us. Sparce choice for adults and nothing for our daughter. We ate in the restaurant, staff were very friendly but service was slow. We enjoyed our food when it arrived. Breakfast was ok but you didn’t get a lot of choice. The hotel room was fairly cheap when we booked, the hotels in s nice spot with plenty of parking. Was it good value? Yes. Would we recommend? Yes. Would we stay again? Yes for the same rate that we paid ."

This duration allows for exploration of its beautiful gardens, charming countryside, and friendly atmosphere, all while remaining budget-friendly. Additionally, enabling email alerts or push notifications can keep you informed about flash sales and special promotions, helping you to seize savings opportunities. You can also utilise Smart Shopping, a comparison tool available via the app, to compare hotel prices and amenities. This way, if rooms become available or prices drop, you're more likely to see it first and book your last-minute getaway.
  3. Be flexible with dates: Prices can fluctuate depending on various factors, including the hotel's location, star rating, and the time of year. Therefore, being flexible with your travel dates may help you save on your stay in a hotel in Taunton. For those seeking something a bit different, boutique hotels often provide a more personalised experience and could offer better value. When you book through Hotels.com, we’ll inform you whether the price for your chosen dates is above or below the average. If the price is on the higher end, we’ll suggest alternative dates that may be more affordable, helping you secure a better deal.
  4. Consider your location: Hotels near the city centre usually tend to be more expensive, but with Taunton's excellent public transport links, you may discover a more affordable independent hotel a bit further out that remains well connected. For those wishing to explore alternative, less crowded neighbourhoods or even lesser-known nearby towns, there is often great value for money to be found. Opting for these alternative destinations could provide a more authentic and budget-friendly experience.
