It was opened in 1827 and is a lovely, clean pier with plenty of wooden benches to sit and breathe in the fresh air and look out onto the Baltic Sea. There was a small charge to get onto the pier when I visited but I think the charge is only in place during high season.

The availability of a nice restaurant for the dinner and the breakfast buffet offered on site is a big plus especially after the season when many gastronomy businesses around are dormant. A small Saint Nicolaus gift which I found in the morning at the doorsteps of my room was a pleasant surprise. "
