Boccadasse feels like a medieval fishing village plucked from a storybook and placed on Genoa's coast. Colourful houses in coral and seafoam green cascade down to a pebble beach where traditional boats bob in the bay. The Church of Sant'Antonio anchors this picturesque spot where locals still fish from traditional boats. Small trattorias serve fresh focaccia and seafood caught that morning, with most places closing for afternoon siesta. Though public transit is limited, the area rewards explorers on foot with its intimate scale and stunning views. Accommodation is primarily holiday rentals in converted fishermen's houses, offering an authentic slice of coastal Italian life.

During your visit, you can enjoy the beautiful port, discover fascinating museums, stroll through hilly streets, and dine at charming cafés by the sea. This way, you can make the most of your experience while keeping costs in check, as prices may drop during these months, offering great value for money.
  2. Look for last-minute deals on Hotels.com: To explore last-minute deals to Genoa, begin by checking the Dealsopens in new window or Last-Minute Deals sections on Hotels.com, where you may discover discounted hotel rates as your travel date approaches. Consider enabling email alerts or push notifications to stay updated on flash sales and special last-minute promotions, helping you to seize potential savings. Additionally, the Smart Shopping feature available in the app allows you to compare hotel prices and amenities, ensuring you’re more likely to see the best options. With these tools, you can stay informed about price drops and availability for your preferred accommodations.
  3. Be flexible with dates: Prices may fluctuate due to factors such as the hotel's location, star rating, and the time of year, so being flexible with your travel dates could help you save on your stay in a hotel in Genoa. For those seeking a distinctive experience, boutique hotels can provide a more personalised touch and potentially offer better value. When you book through Hotels.com, we will inform you whether the price for your chosen dates is above or below the average. If the price appears to be on the higher side, we’ll suggest alternative dates that may be more affordable, increasing your chances of finding a great deal.
  4. Consider your location: Hotels situated near the city centre generally tend to be more expensive, but with Genoa's superb public transport connections, you may discover a more affordable independent hotel located further afield that remains well linked. For those keen to explore alternative, less crowded neighbourhoods or even lesser-known nearby towns, there is often excellent value for money to be found. Opting for these alternative destinations could provide a more authentic and budget-friendly experience.
