6/10 Good

The only good thing about the property was the location in the old town. There were no black out curtains when the sun is only down for 4 hours a day and with it down it’s still extremely light out compared to what we’re used to, the beds were camper beds with a 2” mattress, no fitted sheet, terrible pillows, and no sound proofing. We could hear all neighbours, anyone in the hall, anyone outside. There was also no AC. I wouldn’t stay here again. Staff weren’t very helpful and the breakfast was not good either.

Expect nothing but location!!
Not worth the money. Bathroom smelled sewage, breakfast really poor and unpolite staff. Never this hotel again!!

Great location, basic hotel
The location is the best! Hotel is pretty basic. We had a superior room which had plenty of room but otherwise it was pretty standard. I was expecting more from the hotel breakfast but it didn’t stand out in any way. You get your tummy full but selection is pretty much the same as other Tallinn hotels have.

Hotel was in a great location, the staff were friendly and helpful and the rooms were clean. The decor was maybe a little outdated but nice nonetheless. We were very pleased with our stay here.

It was in the best location, really! and very well maintained. My only gripe would be the very slow/not working wi-fi in the room. It seems common in hotels to have very poor wi-fi however given time and technical advancements all hotels need to upgrade this service as it is not a luxury it is a necessity. Thanks.

When in Tallinn stay at Baltic Hotel !
Your hotel is charming, awesome location, delicious breakfast presentation and elegant too! BUT the mattress in our room needed an upgrade. Your staff was attentive to our need of a better/firm mattress and made amends. It was a wonderful three day visit. Thank You!

4/10 Fair

Noisy and hot
The room was very stuffy and hot, with no air conditioning. The windows opened to the back, with the next building only a few metres away. This is also where they stored the bins, so opening the windows came with the stink of bins and the noise from a nightclub. We spent one very uneasy night here and were glad to leave the next morning.

So So....
While the hotel was clean, well located, and with pleasant staff, the rooms face out on to a walled in courtyard used for trucks and cars. As there is no air conditioning, guests are forced to leave the windows open at night and ALL the outside sounds reverberate back to the room. Combined with no black out curtains, and sleeping was NOT ideal as there was so much outside noise and it never really got dark near summer solstice. Breakfast at 16 EU each also was stiff and not worth it.

This modern hotel was a perfect location for our six-night stay in Tallinn's old town. The address is on Vana Viru, the tourist-filed pedestrian street at the east end of old town, but the hotel entrance is on its north side, away from the busy street. Lots of souvenir shops and restaurants nearby, including a McDonald's, which we found useful for quick, cheap breakfasts. (The hotel's small breakfast buffet was an overpriced 16 euros per person.) Our hotel was a great location for local transportation. Walk east two blocks along Vana Wiru to Viru Valijak, where all four of Tallinn's tram lines run. Line #4 goes to the airport, with a stop along the way (Bussijaam stop) that's a block from Tallinn's international coach terminal. The trams on Line #4 are more modern than the others, with one easy step up, and room for luggage in the stroller space in the front car. Trams #1 and #3 go to Kadriorg Park, where the main art museums are located. Tram fares are 2 euros cash each way, paid to the driver (exact change only). Just east of the tram lines on Viru Valijak is a large, multi-story shopping mall called Viru Keskus, whose basement level includes a supermarket and Tallinn's main city bus terminal. We knocked a point off our hotel rating because our twin beds were more narrow than most European hotels, and those fewer inches make turning awkward. But if you're thin - or booking a larger bed - this is an excellent place to stay.

Hotel Vana Wiru was perfect as a base to explore Tallinn. Situated centrally in the old town, it was quiet and comfortable and breakfast was good value at 12 Euros. Cleanliness was outstanding and the shower was terrific.

Needs urgent changes
The hotel is well located for bars, restaurants and the old town. The rooms are slightly dated, the beds a little uncomfortable but the major negative were tissue thin curtains and the exterior car park lighting and ambient city lights meant the room on the fourth floor was lit up all night long.
