Absolute nightmare. We got to the property at 11pm only to find our hotel had been closed indefinitely 3 days prior to our arrival. Expedia gave us no warning, no notice, or anything. So once we got there after a long day expecting to check in and rest, we had to find another hotel to book and check for our three night stay. We luckily had friends nearby to pick us up while we worked on finding another hotel. Out of desperation we booked another hotel through Expedia that was not very elegant or spacious and that had two twin beds instead of the king room since that is all that was available. We just needed a place to sleep safely for the night, but it was not the most pleasant experience. We decided that night, that we would look for another hotel in the morning so that my partner could have a comfortable and spacious room to work from. The next morning, we went down to cancel the remaining days on the reservation and could not since it was booked with Expedia. Expedia did not let us cancel and get a refund for the remaining nights at this second hotel we booked out of desperation. Annoyed but determined to enjoy our visit to the city, we decided to just book directly with a nice hotel so that we can have more flexibility and just ate the cost of not getting a refund from Expedia for cancelling the next two nights. Lesson learned, don’t use expedia because they can put you in a pickle, and don’t provide communications if something goes wrong with your hotel!

Warning to all. This hotel doesn't exist anymore. It was closed and turned into a shelter for asylum seekers. I turned up at 11pm on a Saturday night having booked 5 months ago and a 22 hour flight to discover it was no longer a hotel and the security said not my problem and I had to find other accommodation that didn't cost a bomb at 11.30pm at night on a Saturday in NYC. Pathetic from both Holiday Inn & Wotif that I wasn't contacted and had to learn the hard way. Will NEVER book with wotif or holiday inn EVER AGAIN.

Terrible bizarre experience
We had a reservation for two days, but were not allowed in the hotel because it had been converted to some kind of shelter. We were not informed about this, and were given an agent's business card to contact. No one at that phone number would pick up the phone. Not sure if we will get a refund. No help was provided to find an alternative hotel room. Bizarre experience. I expected better from a solid brand like Holiday Inn.

The area is not safe, the train is very loud, and it is very close to the hotel. The safety of the window is not entirely comfortable

The staff at this hotel is always so great and kind. Julie and Dexter and Mirasha are wonderful and skilled at what they do. My partner lived in Brooklyn and I live in Denver, and I choose to repeatedly visit this hotel over any of the other ones simply because I know it’ll be bug free, clean, friendly and safe. Never again will I spend on any fancy hotel just to want to come back to this express.

8/10 Very good

The hotel has many decent amenities, like a simple breakfast in the morning. The room itself was just okay- kind of shabby renovation in the bathroom with missing towel hook and missing soaps in the sink area. Some tiles were poorly placed. And if subway noises bother you it could be an issue - but not horrible. Would request a high floor if you have the option. Very kind and helpful staff!

Hotel was in a great location for transport into Manhattan. Located 2 min walk from a subway station made it ideal to jump on the train and be in Manhattan within 15 minutes. Area around the hotel was not particularly nice however did not affect our stay and the hotel itself was great. A small limited breakfast was included which was great however on most mornings to food would have run out well before breakfast was due to end. You had to be down early to get a full selection of food. Most mornings it was all gone by 08:30am despite it running until 09:30/10:00am. Also not very environmentally friendly at all as it was served on disposable plates and plastic cutlery causing huge amounts of plastic to end up being thrown away each day. Staff were average in terms of friendliness however got the job done. Hotel was really clean and we had a lovely large room with really comfortable beds. Showers were clean and spacious. Would stay here again.
