The property and views are breathtaking, and the staff are so incredibly helpful and friendly. Breakfast and lunch buffets are excellent, and although dinner was good, it was overpriced, and as soon as it’s closing time, they rush you out.
The surroundings are farmland, but there are a couple of restaurants within walking distance, as well as a go-kart track. Aside from that, you definitely have to rely on taxis to get around. I think it was around $40 to American Village. Also, there are snorkeling attractions within 15 minutes, and I believe that cost roughly $12 by taxi.
Also, there is only one spot at the hotel that could MAYBE be considered a bar, and that’s the snack bar by the beach. To that end, don’t expect a beach bar like you would see in the US.
All in all, I would recommend this hotel, but just a heads up: resorts here are nothing like those in the US or Caribbean, so just be prepared for that.
