Sliema

What you need to know before you go

Sliema – just across the bay from Malta’s capital Valletta – is an easy-going, multifaceted coastal town. It’s home to a plethora of lively bars and good-value restaurants serving international fare, as well as a popular children’s playground in Independence Garden, close to the seafront.

Walk along the promenade to Tigne Point for panoramic views over Valletta’s historic skyline and out to sea. This scenic peninsula, formerly the site of a disused British barracks, was revitalized in the early 2000s with a stylish new shopping mall and many fashionable apartments.
