We loved it
This hotel has two locations close to each other. Both are renovated historical buildings in the middle of Old Delhi. We are adventurous travelers that love to be where it is most exciting and stay at small hotels owned by locals. We got both and in addition wonderful service by wonderful people. The restaurant had delicious food. The hotel can’t be easily reached by car but other transportation is available in the tiny streets of Old Delhi. Also, as expected in a location like this, it is fairly noisy at almost all times.

An old fashioned gem in the darkest of lanes.
Lovely hotel. A little incongruous in its setting and the surrounding lanes do not seem to have benefitted from the oppulence of the hotel. Prices are very high for drinks even given the setting. We swapped a book and were charged so the hotel to label their paperbacks to avoid confusion. Staff are lovely. Reception were unclear on taxi charges and misquoted initially. Pictures of the hotel belie its setting which felt unfair. However, ovetall a somewhat surreal experience as the hotel tries hard to be like something from the past while catering to the whims of modern clientelle.

An amazing experience
It was an amazing hotel experience in the middle of old Delhi. After entering the gate we stepped into a beautiful 17th century palace. We could really feel the history. Kite flying, walking tour, and the food was such an added pleasure. Would definitely recommend!

My stay here was very nice.. I am a sol female traveller. Everyone was very helpful especially Mr. Roshan.. he checked me in and I was welcomed very very warmly.. I was nervous travelling alone especially because it was Old Delhi but when I met the shuttle driver and then Mr Roshan and other staff who brought me to the hotel I felt very safe. Morning breakfast is very good and staff are very helpful. There are senior staff that are not very kind or warm but that does not affect my experience. My room was in Golden HAVELI-Jahan Ara.. if you are a light sleeper I don’t recommend this room. It is on top of the Galli.. the only quiet time is between 11pm-4am.. otherwise room was very nice. My heritage walk tour with Gaurav was also memorable. Very knowledgeable and patient tour guide. Highly recommended. Thank you!

Haveli Dharampura: A Unique Experience Steeped in Heritage, with a Few Caveats Haveli Dharampura offers a truly immersive heritage experience, transporting you to the heart of Old Delhi's bustling streets. However, the journey to reach this haven is an adventure in itself. The closest transportation drops you off about 200 meters away, requiring a walk through narrow, winding alleys. The hotel itself exudes charm and character, but certain aspects left me wanting. The breakfast spread was disappointingly limited, lacking variety and failing to impress. Additionally, the room I stayed in was plagued by flies, especially at night. While this may be unavoidable in such a location, it did detract from the overall comfort. Despite these drawbacks, the staff were exceptionally friendly and attentive, always ready to assist with a smile. The hotel's unique architecture and ambiance offered a glimpse into the past, making it a truly memorable experience. However, it's important to note that the property is not disabled-friendly, with high stairs and narrow passageways posing significant challenges for those with mobility issues. Overall, Haveli Dharampura is a captivating experience for those seeking an authentic taste of Old Delhi's heritage. However, it's important to be aware of its limitations regarding accessibility and certain amenities before booking your stay.

The Haveli is an architecturally significant property with period furnishings, marble, tile, and brass, that gives an old world feel. The rooms are small, but well appointed, and clean. The restaurant serves very good Indian fare, and the staff is especially friendly and helpful. It is quirky and charming and makes you feel like you've gone back in time. But Buyer Beware: the Haveli says it is located in "historic" Old Delhi. It is in the Muslim Ghetto of Old Delhi. The surrounding area is extremely dirty, noisy, and chaotic. There is no street access to the hotel. You are dropped off in front of the largest Mosque in India, and you carry your bags down narrow, filthy alleyways about 600 yards to get to the hotel. The hotel entrance is again, in a narrow, filthy alley where you must jump out of the way of motorbikes and Vespas that scream down the alley, mongrel dogs (some with mange) and fetid pools of water and god knows what else dot your path. And the front desk and restaurant is in a different building (in the same alley) from the chamber building with guest rooms. So to get from your room to the restaurant you must venture out into the alleyway, as described above. Make no mistake, the hotel interior is beautiful and once inside, you feel like you're in a refuge. But outside the hotel is another world. If you're a hipster or adventure traveler, this might be for you. We had a pleasant stay. But if you seek a more traditional hotel stay, this is not it.

The hotel is a beautifully restores haveli and is true my one of a kind. We loved the character, activities, and ambiance that the hotel offered. The bed was comfortable and bathroom was modern. However, the rooms are small, air conditioning is weak, and the interior room windows result in limited privacy. Nonetheless, the experience the hotel offers greatly out way the negatives. I highly recommend staying here for short trips 1-3 days. For longer trips, staying in Old Delhi may be tiring.

Take care over which room you book
Fantastic historic building in a great location for the Old Delhi tourist attractions. Service and food both great. Avoid the Golden Haveli rooms as you have to walk 100m up a 100% Old Delhi alleyway to get to the main hotel. Very safe and the doorman will accompany you but too much like hard work to get a lemonade.
