Houghton Lake Getaway
Pool & spa were awesome for the relaxation. Bed is very soft & comfortable. Hotel was very clean & maintained although might to hard to notice at nighttime considering how far off the road it is. A few minor issues we encountered that I won’t list on here cause I forgot to mention to the staff before I left & don’t think that’s fair to list it on here.

The staff are excellent and friendly. But this hotel is run down, lock barely works on door at one point I thought I’d get stuck in room, horrible smell in hallways by entrances, shower faucet leaked all night, the shower it’s self was horrible shape, enamel coming off, carpets had not been cleaned in a long time. You are time warped to the 70’s-80’s and it seems they put no money into maintenance. Heat/AC super loud smelled so filter hadn't been change. Water stain on floor and the small fridge looked like it had insect legs and such in it. For the money there’s no way it should be this bad.

We have stayed here before. The location is very convenient while on a road trip. Staff is friendly and helpful. Room was clean and quiet. Nothing fancy or overboard, just a convenient place to stop while traveling .
