It’s okay
The line at the hotel to check in was insane, there was no rhyme or reason. I stood in that line for an hour attempting to be checked in, only to be told there was a separate check in for the select area. I was then escorted there, took another 30 minutes to check in there. There was absolutely no order to things. The beach access was iffy at best, and the room was basic. Not anything to write home about for mid two hundred dollar a night resort. Working the tv without instructions was a bit tricky, and the phone in the room was dead. The alcohol there was the cheapest no name stuff you can get, so if you want a hangover, go for it. Most of the staff were perfectly friendly, which did help. The bed was comfortable, and the AC was great. The beach its self was very nice, and it appeared there were plenty of food options. Word to the wise, be careful what you eat there. Over all, I wouldn’t book a long term stay there, but for a couple of nights, it’s not bad.

Overrated
Review of La Casa Marina - Select I recently stayed at La Casa Marina - Select, and while there were a few positive aspects, my experience overall left much to be desired. Positives: The hotel’s cleanliness stood out. Both the rooms and public spaces were well-maintained, and the overall atmosphere was peaceful. Additionally, the beach was a highlight—clean, serene, and perfect for relaxation without the typical crowds. Negatives: Unfortunately, there were several disappointing aspects. First, the check-in process was poorly managed. Despite our reservation request for two rooms close by, this was not accommodated, which was frustrating. The food was another letdown—it lacked variety and became repetitive quickly, offering little to look forward to at mealtime. One of the most frustrating experiences was with the housekeeping team. They would knock once and immediately enter without waiting for a response, which felt intrusive and uncomfortable. Adding to the inconvenience, the phone in the room didn’t work, meaning any request or communication with the front desk required physically walking there or using WhatsApp, where responses were slow at best. Overall, I’ve had much better service, food, and entertainment at other resorts in Puerto Plata. Compared to those experiences, La Casa Marina - Select in Sosúa did not meet my expectations and was not worth the price. Unfortunately, I wouldn’t recommend staying here and likely won’t return.

Had a wonderful time in Sosua. Food was great at Casa Marina, drinks were decent. Breakfast at the buffet was my favorite. The Facility was very clean and well managed. Very nice staff. Wish I could’ve stayed longer. The Beach and Pools very clean. Rented an ATV as transportation to travel around the area which was fun. Will definitely visit Casa Marina again. The best all inclusive resort in the area. 😁

I enjoyed my stay, and the staff were all super fantastic! The area outside is not tourist friendly as it looks very poor and you have locals trying to hustle and finesse money from you left and right… which sucks. The sand is EXTREMELY HOT, the bottoms of my feet were tender and in pain by the time we left (4 days). The adult side is boring… you would think they would have the late entertainment, club/disco, and adult only areas open at the adult only side but they don’t. There were also people from the resort with their kids on the adult side so that’s no fun…
