This is a new hotel situated in close proximity to the central sights in Malacca. It has a hip vibe with pop art and signs featuring the local slang expressions and colourful furnishing. I found the hotel pleasant and room very clean and beautiful. The hotel staff was attentive and the whole check-in process was smooth and efficient.
While the hotel is overall good, it lacks in some basic areas and for these reasons I won't stay here again.: The room is equipped with shampoo, body wash, and toothbrush, and a hairdryer but you won't find other amenities. The walls are very thin and I woke up in the middle of the night to the sound of my next door neighbours fighting and yelling. Breakfast is provided over an unreasonably short window of 8:00-10:00 am and the food is not that good (they only provide instant coffee, for example). There is a restaurant menu that only includes American style fried food (think burgers and fries) but no healthier options, drink menu that only includes beer but not wine. The hotel faces one of the main streets that has a constant flow of traffic and crossing it makes it a pain.
Despite these issues, the hotel is clean, brand new, beautifully furnished (targeting the young 20s crowd), and reasonably priced. It is a 1-2 minute walk to Christ Church, so definitely stay here if you'd like to be near the sights! For me, I feel like I'm a bit old for the place (I'm in my late 30s)-- would stay elsewhere next time.
