Enjoyable
Enjoyed my stay. It was fireworks night and I could see the harbour display from my room window.
The room was clean and the bed was a decent size for a single. The food was really good too.

Bad bartender
The young male bar tender was rude, and interrupted my personal conversation. Seem like he just didn’t like his job.

A character property and right in the heart of the town. The eating area of the bar was nice and interestingly decorated giving the whole place true character.

Clean, modern and comfortable room. Great pub, restaurant was limited in choice and food quality did not match the prices. Good breakfast though. There are very few other dining options nearby. No on-site parking but we were able to park mostly for free on the streets or nearby parking lots.

Stromness Ferry Inn is the ideal location for a few days on the Orkneys. We were very happy with the location and the room. The staff is excellent and the Inn is obviously very well run. The bar is great and the dining room is not to be missed. Make your reservations early though, the place was packed each evening with locals and visitors alike. Shout out to Rose!!

This inn is literally steps from the ferry terminal and bus terminal in Stromness. We had a room for three and it was large enough to accommodate three people and their luggage with room to circulate. The bathroom was large, bright, and clean.
Despite being very close to the ferry terminal, the room was quiet. We had a great view of the ferry from our room, yet were never disturbed by sound from the harbour.
Stromness is a nice town to explore and the Ferry Inn is centrally located. We had breakfast at the hotel (wonderful!) but had dinner elsewhere only because we were in other parts of the islands.

I highly recommend the Ferry Inn to travelers to Stromness. It is very convenient to the ferry and the staff are extremely helpful. We had dinner and breakfast in the hotel and both meals were excellent. Our room was large with few steps which was very helpful since I had mobility issues during our stay. We thoroughly enjoyed our time there.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Ferry Inn. My only complaint was the dinner fare we had the first night. Disconnect between quality of what we had and the cost. That being said, the breakfast is excellent, as is the bar

We had a wonderful 2 night stay in February with lots of snow which was a bonus. Our room was immaculate, a real comfy bed, plenty of tea, coffee and biscuits. The bathroom was brand new with a super powerful shower. The staff were so accommodating and really happy to help with anything we needed, a great shout out for Angela, Moira and the chef. The breakfast had a great choice of hot or cold food. The porridge was to die for and runny poached eggs. The hotel is central fir everything, right across from the ferry terminal too. We will definitely be back. Thank you again for looking after us 👍

2/10 Poor
30 December 2023
Worst customer service I ever experienced when the storm hit and all trains and ferries were cancelled for 2-3 days in December 27&28- Angela refused to waive cancellations fees.
We were stranded on the way to the Ferry Inn and I immediately let them know that no trains or ferries were operable.
Angela Charged me $340 for two nights that I couldn’t get there due to the storm cancellations.
I had to buy an additional 2 nights of hotel where I was stranded. Very inconsiderate and I will not stay there in the future. Angela could have at least reduced the amount since it was an act of God storm that stopped all trains and ferries.
I understand she wants $$ but I paid double for those two nights with not so much as an I’m sorry from the Ferry Inn and Angela herself.
Not very kind behavior.
