How in the world did this place get good reviews? Check in was a nightmare! The website listed a front desk and when we arrived in the dark after a stressful drive we couldn’t even find the building. I wandered around struggling to communicate and someone pointed me in the right direction and I somehow got into the building and managed to find someone who called the manager and she finally sent the details for the door and parking. No front desk. The parking lot had a barrier that was supposed to rise with a phone number and failed to do so coming and going. There was a rickety elevator that did not go all the way to our floor. There was junk on some of the landings. The automatic lights on the stairs were slow to come on. The room was large enough and clean enough but was so bare bones as to be laughable. No shower curtain! A nespresso machine with no pods, no teabags or sugar, not even a plastic glass wrapped in plastic. Only a tiny garbage can that barely fit anything. There was a balcony but when we stepped outside the family next door were all looking right at us. They all seemed to get up at 3:30 am and the walls were paper thin. I have been in thousands of hotel rooms and I have never had one that failed so completely to live up to expectations. It even said there was breakfast for a fee—did they mean the coffee shop next door? I will say there were attractions within walking distance. And the coffee shop next door was very nice.
