Downtown Cary
City centre Cary blends Victorian charm with modern small-town vibes, with historic buildings telling stories at every corner. The restored Page-Walker Hotel showcases elegant architecture while the Cary Arts Centre and intimate Cary Theatre offer year-round cultural experiences. City centre Park serves as the community's beating heart, hosting seasonal festivals that bring Academy Street to life with outdoor concerts and events. The dining scene ranges from cosy cafes to upscale bistros along Chatham Street, with many spots highlighting local North Carolina ingredients. Getting around is a breeze with walkable streets, though parking becomes scarce during festival weekends. Nearby chain hotels and boutique inns provide comfortable bases for exploring this historic core.

Upchurch
Upchurch gives you all the perks of suburban living without the boredom. The area connects to Cary's impressive greenway system, perfect for morning jogs or evening strolls through leafy surroundings. When adventure calls, Fred G. Bond Metro Park, Triangle Rock Club, and Park West Village are just minutes away. The Sri Venkateswara Temple offers a cultural experience most tourists miss. You'll need wheels to get around, but that's the trade-off for peaceful streets and affordable holiday rentals. Nearby strip malls provide plenty of dining options when you don't feel like cooking. This quiet residential area makes an ideal home base for exploring the broader Research Triangle region without the city centre price tag.

Learn more about Cary
Beneath towering oaks and pines, meticulously maintained greenways invite cyclists and walkers to explore this leafy suburb. The Koka Booth Amphitheatre hosts summer concerts beside Symphony Lake, complete with fireflies. WakeMed Football Park draws crowds for professional matches, while the farmers' market showcases local produce with small-town friendliness. Fred G. Bond Metro Park offers peaceful paddling on its lake. The Cary Arts Centre occupies a restored school building with galleries and performance spaces. Lake Crabtree County Park provides trails with wildlife sightings minutes from city centre. SAS Institute's campus exemplifies the town's tech credentials, though locals still debate whether 'Containment Area for Relocated Yankees' is an affectionate nickname or gentle ribbing.

"Harvey was great at the front desk, always smiling and helpful. I was there 12 days for baseball at USA training complex and things were good just a little dated"

Hyatt Place Raleigh-Durham Airport
"Great stay! Clean, friendly and accommodating."
Embassy Suites by Hilton Raleigh Durham Research Triangle
"I liked this hotel. It was 10 minutes from the airport and 10 minutes from the venue we needed to go to. There were restaurants within walking distance but most people will drive. The hotel is situated in an area of lots of trees which made it seem serene. We had a couple problems with our room which was fix pretty quickly the staff was very responsive for sure. Things that I think that would be helpful, non slip bathtub mats in the bathroom for older persons needing to get in and out of the tub, hooks in the bathroom next to the bathtub and on the door for towels so they can dry and be used again or for hanging clothes to change into once done with the shower, and the upholstery of the chairs in the atrium need to be replaced. It was disconcerting to see and sit on chairs that just look terribly beat up. I am sure the chairs will be replaced in the future. The breakfast in the morning was good but would have like to have a decaf option for coffee, but the omelet station was great! Overall it was a pretty good stay would stay there again."
Hyatt Place Raleigh/Cary

4 tips for savvy savings when booking a hotel in Cary
- Book for the cheapest times: The most affordable time to visit Cary is during January, August, and December, when hotel prices tend to be lower. For those looking to explore the area's key landmarks, cultural sites, and history, a stay of at least 2 to 3 days is recommended. This budget-friendly duration allows visitors to enjoy various attractions, including sports events, birdwatching, and scenic river walks, while also indulging in local dining and shopping experiences. Travellers on a budget will find that these months offer great value for money, as prices may drop, making it an ideal time to immerse oneself in Cary’s rich offerings.
- Look for last-minute deals on Hotels.com: To discover last-minute deals in Cary, visit the DealsOpens in a new window or Last-Minute Deals sections on Hotels.com, where you may find discounted hotel rates as your travel date approaches. Consider enabling email alerts or push notifications from Hotels.com to stay updated on flash sales and special promotions, ensuring you don't miss potential savings. Additionally, the Smart Shopping tool available via the app allows you to compare hotel prices and amenities, so you're more likely to see the best options. By using these resources, you could be among the first to know about available rooms or price drops for a spontaneous getaway.
- Be flexible with dates: Prices can fluctuate depending on factors such as the hotel's location, star rating, and the time of year, so being flexible with your travel dates might help you save on your stay in a Cary hotel. For those seeking distinctive experiences, boutique hotels can provide a more personalised atmosphere and sometimes better value. When you book with Hotels.com, we'll inform you whether the price for your chosen dates is above or below the average. If the price is on the higher side, we may suggest more economical dates to help you secure the best deal.
- Consider your location: Hotels situated near the city centre usually tend to be more expensive, but with Cary's superb public transport connections, you may discover a more affordable independent hotel a bit further out that remains well linked. For those keen to explore alternative, less crowded neighbourhoods or even some lesser-known nearby towns, there is often excellent value for money to be found. Opting for these alternative destinations could provide a more authentic and budget-friendly experience.
