"I had an amazing stay here and truly can’t thank the staff enough for how kind and helpful they were during my trip to Shima. The hotel itself was beautiful, very comfortable, and had such a relaxing atmosphere. The onsen was also wonderful — very clean, peaceful, and private, which made the experience even more enjoyable. Saito and the rest of the staff went completely above and beyond for me. They even drove me where I needed to go the next day when they absolutely did not have to, which I was incredibly grateful for. When I returned looking for my lost AirPod, they didn’t just point me in a direction — they actively helped me search my room and even looked throughout the hotel with me. That level of care and hospitality is something you don’t forget. Everyone here was so welcoming and genuine, and they made my stay feel special from beginning to end. If I ever come back to Shima, I will absolutely stay here again. Highly recommend!"

  1. Book for the cheapest times: The most budget-friendly time to visit Shima is during February, June, and November, when hotel prices are generally lower. Visitors can enjoy the local aquarium, take in the sights at the nearby theme park, savour seafood delicacies at the marina, and explore the charm of small towns. Additionally, there are opportunities for swimming, adventure activities, and relaxation in natural parks and hot springs, all of which offer great value for money. Prices may drop during these months, making it an ideal time for those on a budget.
  2. Look for last-minute deals on Hotels.com: To discover last-minute deals to Shima, visit the DealsOpens in a new window or Last-Minute Deals sections on Hotels.com, where you may find discounted rates as your travel date approaches. By enabling email alerts or push notifications, you could stay updated on flash sales and special promotions, ensuring you don't miss potential savings. Additionally, the Smart Shopping feature within the app allows you to compare hotel prices and amenities, helping you make informed decisions. If prices drop or rooms become available, you're more likely to be notified first, making it easier to secure a last-minute getaway.
  3. Be flexible with dates: Prices may fluctuate depending on factors such as the hotel's location, star rating, and the time of year. Therefore, being flexible with your travel dates could potentially help you save on your stay at a hotel in Shima. For those seeking a distinctive experience, boutique hotels can provide a more personalised touch and may occasionally offer better value. When you book through Hotels.com, we will inform you whether the price for your chosen dates is above or below the average. If the price is on the higher end, we will suggest alternative dates that might be more affordable, enhancing your chances of securing a better deal.
  4. Consider your location: Choosing accommodation closer to key attractions or city centres can offer convenience, but it often tends to come with higher costs. For more affordable options, you might consider hotels in less central areas or neighbourhoods, striking a balance between price and ease of access to the sites you intend to visit. Independent hotels situated a bit further afield are more likely to be affordable and can provide a more authentic experience.
