It depends what you want and expect. It’s the most phenomenal property and atmosphere. It’s a memorable experience which we will not forget. It’s important to support these places as they are crumbling. I cannot imagine the upkeep to maintain this building and its surrounds and we did not expect perfection! Our room itself was very clean and completely clear of bugs or bats. However; there were bats flying everywhere indoors and outdoors. They are flying up and down the corridor and over your head whilst you eat - we didn’t get bitten by mosquitos so that was a plus but it was crazy. I guess they cannot do anything about this as they’re protected. The bathroom was functional and clean but very old. This chateau is in need of repair, be aware of this. I imagine staying here helps support the upkeep of a very ancient, impressive, and somewhat dilapidated building.

Well... a strange trip: double booking so we could not get the room. How ever, the team on site (Thanks a lot Stephanie) had been so helpful and could find us a room nearby to compense. And invited us for dinner. I must say: a pity this huge and wonderful place has so few rooms, because it is simply wonderful. The friendlyness and pro of the team, the nice dinner, and a rare help given to us to solve our trouble made us happy, and we will definitly come back and this time we will book a bit more in advance. Thanks Stephane and Igor for everything you did to help and your great reception, and to keep us smyling even with this booking mess. We will be back, promise!!!
