Pontal
Pontal's waterfront promenade showcases the best of Paraty, with emerald bay views and colourful fishing boats bobbing against a backdrop of green mountains. Just steps from the UNESCO-listed historic centre, you'll find colonial buildings with terracotta roofs lining the scenic walkway. Boat tours whisk visitors to nearby islands while the cobblestone streets beckon with their Portuguese charm. Seafood restaurants with bay views dominate the dining scene, serving fresh fish and caipirinha cocktails as the sun sets. Small boutique pousadas and family-run hotels offer mid-range to luxury accommodation with terraces overlooking the water. Most travellers explore on foot or take short taxi rides from the historic centre.

Vila Colonial
Vila Colonial's centuries-old cobblestone streets transport you to a Portuguese-Brazilian past frozen in time. Wander between whitewashed buildings with colourful shutters, discover ornate baroque churches, and browse artisan markets selling handcrafted goods. The car-free historic centre lets you soak up the authentic colonial atmosphere without modern distractions. Traditional restaurants serve fresh seafood in historic buildings while local shops offer handmade jewellery and ceramics. Charming pousadas in restored colonial homes provide intimate accommodation with period furnishings. Getting around means exploring on foot over uneven stones, but the human-scale architecture makes every stroll a delight.

Jabaquara
Jabaquara's golden beach stretches along Paraty Bay with calm, swimmable waters perfect for cooling off. The shoreline offers breathtaking views of Atlantic Forest mountains rising from the sea. Simple beach bars serve fresh seafood and caipirinhas while colourful fishing boats bob in the protected waters, creating a perfect blend of relaxation and natural beauty. Most visitors stay in charming pousadas with personal service and local breakfast. Getting around is easy with taxis or rental cars connecting to Paraty's historic centre just 20 minutes away. The neighborhood's relaxed pace and affordable prices make it an ideal escape from tourist crowds.

Cabore
Cabore serves up a dreamy mix of pristine beaches, lush Atlantic Forest, and hints of Portuguese colonial charm. Turquoise waters invite swimming and kayaking while hiking trails lead to hidden waterfalls through dense rainforest canopy. The neighborhood's secluded coves offer peaceful retreats where traditional fishing boats dot the shoreline against a backdrop of rustic-chic buildings. Boutique pousadas and eco-lodges with beachfront access provide stylish accommodation with natural materials and forest views. Fresh seafood shines at small beachfront restaurants with sunset ocean views. Most visitors rent cars or take taxis from Paraty centre, as public transit is limited in this tranquil coastal hideaway.

Pousada do Ouro
"The location was perfect! We had some rain but we enjoyed the lounging areas with the gardens and atrium to wait out the rain."
Pousada Maré Cheia
"Very good place to stay. We enjoyed the location which was very close to everything. Clean, simple, and honest. The staff is awesome. Can’t beat the price. I strongly recommend it."
Pousada Aconchego
"Charming hotel right at the edge of the historic center (so you can get there by car and easily walk to all the restaurants, etc. that are in the no car zone.) Nice, small pool, with beverages (but nothing else) available. You have to go to front desk to get towels. Room's small, but sufficient and clean. Breakfast was fine, but not as good as some we had in comprable hotels in Brazil. Front desk staff a bit indifferent. Not sure if that was due to language issues (we spoke only Spanish and English)."
Sdesign Paraty Hotel
"Personnel courtois, endroit tranquille propre et près de tout. Je le recommande"
Pousada Recanto do Jabaquara
"Nice little place to stay with your family."
Pousada Porto Imperial
"Great hotel, very helpful staff, great location."
Eliconial Paraty Pousada
"Beautiful place, with very friendly and helpful staff! We had a great time staying here, and the hosts were wonderful. Breakfast was delicious and prepared specifically for us each morning, and we were given plenty of great recommendations and resources. We had unfortunate timing with some construction next door that was a bit noisy, but had a great experience otherwise!"
Pousada Fortaleza
"Nice place and location. "
