The Ecko Tapovan on the Ganges is a clean and comfortable hotel, conveniently located near amenities and a variety of restaurants. While it’s not directly on the Ganges, it’s about a 10-minute walk away, making it easy to reach the river.
I arrived in Rishikesh at 4 AM and had requested a pickup via WhatsApp, but unfortunately, I didn’t receive a response. Despite this initial hiccup, the service during my stay was excellent. The staff were very helpful, especially in assisting me with getting hot water in my room.
The breakfast was delicious and a definite highlight. The room was clean and comfortable, though the stairs felt a bit sketchy with a low handrail. I didn’t use the pool, but the overall environment was pleasant.
For those wanting to explore, the hotel is a short walk to the 60s Café and Beatles Café, and about a 4.5 km walk or hike to Neer Waterfall. If being right on the Ganges is a priority, this might not be the ideal choice, but it’s very close and offers a relaxing stay with helpful staff and good amenities.
