Our two-night stay at Palais Hotel in Büyükada was truly one of the best hotel experiences we’ve ever had. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel incredibly welcome. Everyone was kind, professional, and genuinely went above and beyond to make our stay unique and memorable. The hotel itself is beautiful, with a stunning waterfront location. We loved relaxing on the private pier, where guests can enjoy complimentary beach chairs and umbrellas. The hotel also provides free kayaks, which was such a fun bonus and a wonderful way to enjoy the sea. The pool area is gorgeous, with a full bar serving delicious drinks and excellent food throughout the day. Our room was cozy, comfortable, spotless, and beautifully maintained. The breakfast was absolutely outstanding—it exceeded all of our expectations with its quality, variety, and freshness. It was easily one of the best hotel breakfasts we’ve ever had. One of the sweetest touches was the adorable kittens around the property. They were well cared for, gentle, and respectful, adding even more charm to an already magical place. We can’t recommend Palais Hotel highly enough. If you’re visiting Büyükada, this is the perfect place to stay. Thank you to the entire team for creating such an unforgettable experience—we can’t wait to come back!

Here’s the thing—brutal truth for a place that should have been amazing (maybe the photos are old?). The location is great, but the reality doesn’t match the pictures. The place feels very tired. Room & Bedding: The furniture is worn, full of cigarette burns, and the bed was hard. Instead of a duvet, they gave us a throw, and when I asked for a proper duvet, I was questioned about it. The bedding overall was poor. Food: My wife’s meal was overcooked, mine was undercooked. I originally ordered fettuccine and asked to add chicken (and pay extra), but was declined. I ended up with a burger, and my wife's meal tasted like a frozen dinner. Amenities: The dock was locked, which ruined my early morning swim. I didn’t come for the pool—I came to swim in the sea. Instead, I ran into a locked gate and was told “the pool is closed.” That alone was a deal breaker. Logistics: Checkout is at 12, but breakfast is only 9–11. So you’re forced to choose between a swim or breakfast—makes no sense. Value: For $350 a night, this felt like a $75 stay. You’re paying for the view, nothing else.
