Main Street offers a perfect basecamp with locally-owned shops selling outdoor gear alongside cafes where hikers compare trail notes. The Ute Indian Museum provides fascinating context about the area's first inhabitants. Wine enthusiasts can sample excellent vintages at nearby vineyards in the West Elks AVA, North America's highest elevation wine region. Cedar Point Nature Trail offers an accessible taste of wilderness without committing to a full-day adventure. Minecart Motor Lodge
"The place was pleasantly clean and recently renovated. I can appreciate the little details like plastic conduit to route the power cable for the mounted TV from the outlet to the TV. Definitely a great value. Check in and out was easy, the AC was strong, and bed comfy. Plenty of hot water quickly and the bathroom was modern and clean. Only one feedback for management: consider restriping the lines in your parking lot because I was unable to park in front of my room due to both adjacent vehicles parking over their faded lines. Besides that, great job! It’s clearly a well run operation."
Holiday Inn Express & Suites Montrose - Black Canyon Area by IHG
"Clean room, amazingly kind front desk and in-house staff, good breakfast (very good), quiet-ish rooms. Was perfect for our business trip"
Red Arrow Inn & Suites, a Travelodge by Wyndham
"Liked the staff. "
Super 8 by Wyndham Montrose
"The room was clean and tidy. The staff were friendly. Ideal for a budget stay. Breakfast was not good enough. There was not enough protein source at the breakfast counter."
The Rathbone Hotel
"Our best stay in Montrose ever!!!"
1st Interstate Inn Montrose
"Beds were great. Motel is older and room was dated. The bathroom door had a loose hinge and lamps needed bulbs replaced...the manager was friendly, parking was spacious, the AC worked. There was an ice machine and a guest laundry, although that room could use a good cleaning."
Hampton Inn Montrose
"Staff was fantastic!"
Best Western Montrose Inn
"Eggs were very watery and bland, not much of a fan of hotel breakfast anyway, but protein is a go to for me"

This duration allows visitors to appreciate key landmarks and cultural attractions, including scenic hiking trails, stunning mountain views, diverse wildlife, and opportunities for art excursions and dining experiences. With affordable options available, Montrose offers great value for money for visitors on a budget looking to enjoy beautiful sunsets and engaging theatrical performances.

Additionally, consider enabling email alerts or push notifications to stay informed about flash sales and special promotions, which could help you save. With Smart Shopping, a comparison tool available through the app, you're more likely to see a range of hotel prices and amenities, ensuring you’re alerted if rooms become available or prices drop for your preferred accommodations.
- Be flexible with dates: Prices can fluctuate based on various factors, including the hotel's location, star rating, and the time of year. Therefore, being flexible with your travel dates may help you save on your stay in a Montrose hotel. For those in search of unique accommodations, boutique hotels often provide a more personalised experience and can sometimes offer better value. When you book through Hotels.com, we’ll inform you whether the price for your chosen dates is above or below the average. If the price is on the higher side, we’ll suggest alternative dates that may help you secure a more affordable option.
- Consider your location: Hotels situated near the city centre generally tend to be pricier, but with Montrose's superb public transport connections, you may discover a more affordable independent hotel located further out that remains well connected. For those eager to explore alternative, less congested neighbourhoods or even lesser-known nearby towns, there is often excellent value for money to be found. Opting for these alternative destinations could provide a more authentic and budget-friendly experience.
