Learn more about Oban
A horseshoe bay cradles this Scottish transport hub where ferries depart for Hebridean adventures and whisky enthusiasts sample drams at Oban Distillery. McCaig's Tower – a curious colosseum-like structure – rewards climbers with sweeping views across the Firth of Lorn. The seafood couldn't be fresher; watch fishing boats unload their catch before it appears on local restaurant plates. Dunollie Museum offers glimpses into clan history, while Dunstaffnage Castle stands as a weathered sentinel nearby. Between island-hopping excursions, explore the War and Peace Museum or arrange wildlife-watching trips. During summer, the population triples as visitors arrive for sea kayaking, diving, and the simple pleasure of watching sunset paint the harbour gold.

The Scot
"The Scott is in an excellent location in Oban, very close to lots of shops and restaurants, and also the Oban Distillery!. We stayed in one of the studio apartment rooms and it was in a separate building from the main hotel and very spacious with a big bathroom, nice bedroom and a kitchenette/living area. The main building had a nice bar that had a yummy breakfast buffet for $20/person. Parking was $10 and right on property. For the price this was a great room!!"
Oyster Inn
"The hotel was very clean and comfortable. The breakfast was good although I think there could have been a bit more choice and some more fresh fruit options to go with the cereal. We were glad we did not ask for a sea view as we discovered that some of those rooms were right on the main road and were also completely visible to anyone passing by - zero privacy!!"
The Royal Hotel
"Smashing meals including breakfast very old fashioned hotel but lift to all floors."
Isle of Eriska Hotel and Spa
"Our favorite place we stayed in the UK. It was amazing and i highly recommend a stay."
Corran House Guest House & Hostel
"Clean room and good location for walking into the city center. Would recommend."
Perle Oban Hotel & Spa
"It was fine. Desk staff not so helpful."
Ardtorna
"Nice place but I got told it was half price so I think very over priced for what it was The price I paid was heavy but I booked late, would stay again if prices where more affordable"
