"We stayed for three nights in a Superior Room. The room was large and comfortable. It was cold but we'd been given a heater that we did appreciate. The bathroom was large and well equipped. I think generally for India though it was expensive. It's living off it's old reputation a bit. But we picked it because basically everyone recommended it from the Man in Seat 61 to my mothers best friend. The grounds were lovely. Breakfast was good (buffet style). I wasn't impressed too much by the evening meal. I thought it was too expensive. And it was held by candlelight - it was so dark I had to use the torch on my phone to read the menu...
Overall - it was good, not excellent. If I went back I'd choose somewhere else, because we've done this now, but I'm glad we stayed there this time."
"Sterling Darjeeling is a great place to stay for a trip to the area. The location is much better than anything close to the mall. You can avoid all the traffic and noise of central Darjeeling. Views of the valley and surround mountains are great. The staff is very helpful. If you’re traveling from the airport, you will get to the property much faster (hours) than any place close to the mall because of all the traffic even though it’s only a few kilometers away. I would highly recommend Sterling Darjeeling."

8/10 Good
"The staff were great. The location was perfect and close to main Darjeeling mall. The floors in the room and multiple junctions in the lobby area are uneven which may cause discomfort and extra attention especially for elderly people."
"I received outstanding service at this hotel, with everything handled smoothly, the stay feeling comfortable throughout, and the staff going above and beyond to make it a great experience."
"Good and affordable hotel with clean rooms. The staff is friendly and supportive. Location is easy to reach from main areas. Service was simple but satisfactory. Overall, a comfortable stay at a reasonable price."

Book for the cheapest times: The most budget-friendly time to visit Darjeeling is during February, March, and September, when hotel prices tend to be lower. To fully appreciate the region's historical and cultural landmarks, as well as its stunning natural scenery, it's recommended to stay for at least 2 to 3 days. This duration allows for exploration of key attractions such as temples, hiking trails, and excursions to natural parks, while also enjoying breathtaking sunrises over the mountains. With careful planning, visitors can experience these highlights at great value for money.
Look for last-minute deals on Hotels.com: To uncover last-minute deals to Darjeeling, consider exploring the DealsOpens in a new window or Last-Minute Deals sections on Hotels.com, where you may discover discounted hotel rates close to your travel date. Be flexible with dates: Prices may fluctuate depending on factors such as the hotel's location, star rating, and the time of year, so being flexible with your travel dates could help you save on your stay in a hotel in Darjeeling. For those seeking distinctive accommodations, boutique hotels often provide a more personalised experience and may offer better value. When you make a booking with Hotels.com, we’ll inform you if the price for your chosen dates is above or below the average. If the price is on the higher side, we’ll suggest more economical dates to increase the likelihood of securing a better deal.
Consider your location: Opting to stay closer to major attractions or city centres may offer convenience, but it often comes with a higher price tag. For more affordable options, you might consider hotels in less central areas or neighbourhoods, striking a balance between cost and ease of access to the sites you wish to visit. Independent hotels located a bit further out can often provide a more authentic and budget-friendly experience, as they usually tend to be cheaper.
