Located away from the hustle and bustle of towns this hotel is located in walking distance of several walking beaches. It is however a little difficult to get to without a car and unfortunately the hotel did not reply to our request for guidance ahead of our arrival.

Marina De Maratea comfortable hotel
I did not know what to expect from Maratea. It is steep hills and little beaches down steep hills. There are three areas, Marina De Maratea, Port and Borgo. The hotel is near Marina, which is a few kms from the other areas. The hotel has a lovely view of the water, it is only about 1km to walk to the beach. The cost of a beach bed and umbrella is not included in the room price. Otherwise you need to drive to go anywhere, there are no walking paths nearby. The room was lovely, with a patio that looked out over the sea. No Italian bathrooms seem to have hair conditioner, so bring your own! And body lotion. The restaurant is good, their rabbit tortellini was fantastic!! Easy free parking. But all the local roads are very wind-y , be warned.

We liked our stay of one night very much. We loved walking into our room and seeing the view of the sea, so beautiful. We enjoyed spending time on our balcony with a glass of wine and listening to the surf. The hotel was spotless, the staff very accommodating and friendly and the breakfast served in the morning was excellent.

Nice hotel
Stayed in a deluxe double room with a balcony and a lovely sea view for 2 nights. Everything was exceptionally clean and the bathroom was super equipped – with cotton buds, nail file and even a disposable toothbrush! If you come by car, there’s plenty of free parking in their lovely lot. The hotel also has an OK indoor pool, but as others have said you need to wear a swim cap, either your own or one that you can buy from the hotel. I felt this was a bit old-fashioned and unnecessary. The hotel also has a semi-private beach, which is a 15 minute walk down a not very pretty hill. We walked it, but they do offer 2 shuttle busses in the morning and in the afternoon if you’d rather not walk. Even as guests of the hotel we had to pay €15 for two sun loungers and a parasol and access to the facilities. We were a bit surprised and thought this was a bit pricey for guests of the hotel. However, the beach was lovely, quiet and the water was crystal clear. We enjoyed the breakfast buffet. It had a nice selection of juices, ham and cheeses and of course Italian cakes. We thought the servers were very attentive; we never had to wait for our coffees and they kept the area very tidy. The hotel also has a very good restaurant, which is open only in the evening (8-10pm). It was pricey but we had a good meal. Overall, we would recommend the hotel.

Nice hotel with good views
A little dated but acceptable although my wife found the mattress hard. Balconies are only separated by wooden trellis which we didn't like as we had requested a non-smoking room(OK) but we had to tolerate the smoke from the adjacent rooms or stay inside. Excellent views up the coast, particularly at sunset. Adjoining restaurant provided breakfast and evening meals (all pasta, salad and fish/seafood) if required. We preferred to drive a short distance to another restaurant for dinner as it had a much more varied menu. Difficult to locate - look for it on the main road through Maratea Marina. The "short walk" to the private beach was a ten minute car ride (courtesy bus available) but once there, excellent.(3 euros to park but complimentary sun beds/umberellas .) Lovely little taverna on beach but be sure to wear beach slippers to swim as it is quite shingly and sharp on the feet.

We stayed at seven places in our trip to Italy. Hotel Martino was the best of all. It is more like a small resort than a hotel; located out of town but with easy acess to it. There is beach nearby. Beautiful and well cared landscaping, lemon trees full with fruits, birds chirping along the day. We recommend to get a ocean view room: it has a large balcony and jaw-dropping view. The cleaness could not be better. The breakfast was wonderful with great variety of pastries (the best we had in Italy), bread, juice, cereal, cheese, salame, and good, real coffee (not that "little coffee syrup that Italians call espresso"). The staff was nice and polite. Thanks Antonio for the warm welcome and unforgetable breakfast you arrange to us. Thanks to all maids and landscaping workers for making the hotel a pleasant place to stay. Thanks to the manager who was always helpful and friendly. We look forward to our next trip there.

Fantastic views
The views from our private balcony were stunning. the staff went out of their way to be helpful. the rooms were very comfortable. it was just a short walk down to a selection of small beaches and i he sea had been warmer i would really have enjoyed the access to the sea. Both Maratea itself and the Port of Maratea are lovely places to visit. the drive up to the statue of Christ the Redeemer is something else - but you need a head for heights

sea view worth driving to
We found this wonderful place on the app and are so happy we did. It was not easy driving there through winding streets at night, but worth the effort. The friendly staff upgraded our room to a wonderful sea view with balcony. The room was clean, bed was comfortable. The view was wonderful. There is a beach you can walk to nearby that is beautiful. Relaxing stay. The wifi only works by the lobby or terrace, but thats okay, you can see a nice sunset from the terrace. Breakfast was good. Dinner in the restaurant was excellent. If you want to leave the property the port is not far and there are a few restaurants to have a nice seafood lunch or dinner.
