Nice hotel but loud nightclub next door
There is a nightclub (not prt of the hotel) playing loud music until 4 am on Saturday morning. This made sleeping very difficult. The staff were fantastic. Attention to detail on room cleaning could be improved. The free mini bar was appreciated. Nice views from the rooftop.

Their roof top view of millions of lights at night is spectacular! Plus there is a bar and pool on that deck. Hotel is beautiful, easy to reach harbor, funicular, great restaurants by foot. Breakfast had huge varieties of everything from cold cuts to fresh exotic fruits, great fresh baked bread and omelets if you like. Would stay there again!

We only stayed here on night but it was very nice. Great view and location. The one thing we weren’t used to was when we left the room the air conditioner went off and when you return you must remember to turn it back on, we forgot a few times and the room would get warm fast! We never stayed in a room that wouldn’t allow the a/c to stay on.

The hotel was right in the middle of Funchal old town - a perfect location for exploring. The rooms were clean and very comfortable. The breakfast buffet was amazing. There was very limited space at the rooftop pool and bar which was slightly disappointing as it was extremely hot and a dip in the pool would have been welcome!
