Cheap accommodation in Torshavn

Relatively cheap accommodatipn in Torshavn, rooms were fine with nice view over the city. There was a shared bathroom with another room. Breakfast was ok but quite simple.

Best for the price

There is a grocery store and bus stop nearby. The shared bathroom is a little weird. The window provides all the cool air you’ll ever need. The bed is a little firm and the one pillow is nonexistent because it’s extremely thin.

For the price, it's acceptable. The breakfast was great. There is a big supermarket just 200 meters away. Downsides: Reception was open only 8 hours per day (14-22). It could be an issue for some travelers. It's 2 km uphill from the city center. There is a free bus, but it doesn't go that often. There was no ventilation in the room. We had to open the window once every few hours but Faroe Islands are cold, windy and rainy.

Vi var en hel familie afsted, 10 personer, og så var det perfekt. Vi havde 6 værelser på række, så delte kun bad/toilet med hinanden. Udsigten over Thorshavn og vandet var fantastisk. Morgenmaden var overraskende god, prisen taget i betragtning. Vi kunne sidde i spisesalen og spille spil om aftenen. En enkelt aften spiste vi også pizza der. Så når man ser på hvad vi fik for det vi betalte. Så var jeg meget positivt overrasket. Til den negative side…der var en flok meget larmende unge mænd, som spillede høj musik. Og da der ikke var bemandet reception måtte vi “leve med det”. Desuden var fitness rummet hærget, bordtennisbat og dartpile ødelagte, og det blev ikke gjort rent og bragt i brugbar stand mens vi var der. Vi havde ellers pakket træningstøjet. Men det negative blev klart opvejet af alt det andet gode og den lave pris.

Et skolehjem er et skolehjem. En billig overnatning med det der skal være. 2 værelser har samme indgang, kun ét af værelserne bør udlejes samtidig, det vil øge værdien for den rejsende meget.
