Room was fairly spacious with comfortable chairs, plenty of decent storage furniture, range of lighting and a large comfortable bed. Also has a mosquito blind, double and secondary glazing and an electrically operated blackout shutter.
We didn't like that the room is gloomy during daytime as the trees from the park overshadow the rooms, that the AC is incredibly difficult to understand and that the accommodation is really b&b, there being no public areas for relaxation. The breakfast is a bit limited, sweet filled and plain croissants fruit yoghurts and a little ham and cheese. Coffee and tea were not very good.
The receptionist/attendant spoke English, smiled and was helpful but came across as a little surly. When ordering a taxi for us to the airport he seemed confident in the price, availability and time off arrival but when it came to it the taxi was 25 minutes late and charged 30eu rather than the 22 we were advised. Traffic was the explanation but it didn't seem any busier than usual and the journey time was as advised, about 20 minutes.
The position is good though, next to the pleasant park, close to via Etna and the botanical gardens and in a reasonable neighborhood.
