Past its best
Stayed for a night on the way to a day out in the Eiffel. Hotel has seen its best days - some time ago. Seemed to be full of locals their for a "wellness" stay - although they were all in the bar late on Friday night.
Room was ok, clean, smelt a little damp, but looks liked it was last renovated at some point in the 80's.

Close located to City center
Close located to the city center (10 min by feet). Quiet area. I stayed on a very hot day. The lack of ventilation/AC and therefore spending the night in very warm room was quite uncomfortable

Nice quiet hotel in a very pleasant area next to the river. Good pool area. Breakfast choice excellent. Evening meal service was a bit disorganized but food was good. Overall, a very good choice for a single night stay.

The hotel was nice and the location was great but the room was very hot and there was no air conditioning so it wasn’t as comfortable as it could have been.

No nice social spaces
Parking for about 20 cars and 2 disabled spots so very hard to park at the hotel and they are quick to dish out "we will clamp your car" notices. There are no nice bar areas to sit in and socialise (the family area was closed and the downstairs bar is dark and does an impression of a 1980 disco). Room was clean though a little dated and tired. The breakfast was excellent with a good choice of food and the restaurant was clean and well staffed.

would only stay here as a last option.
Hotel Claims to be a 4* star hotel. Its far from this, in fact it just about qualifies as 3*. The breakfast probably saves it overall. The restaurant is poor with a very limited menu and an evening special that is the same dish each and every night (not very special). The biggest disappointment came when the restaurant was closed on a Wednesday evening for a conference, what about the other guests in the hotel. Do we not matter? Rooms are very very clean but very very dated, with a TV positioning to give you serious neck ache.

Great location for a weekend retreat. The hotel is a bit dated and needs upgrades in some of the original sections of the hotel complex.
Good hotel with service very high class compared to the price

Great place, shame about the room location
The hotel is in a great position just a short stroll from the town and in a picturesque riverside setting. The room was clean and comfortable except room 271 was next to the lift, overlooking the car parks and back of the hotel and noisy from the heating vent/chimney and roads. I would advise you to check out the position of your room before unpacking, which I did not do as I was tired from a long drive as the noise kept my awake. Make sure you have a good view! The breakfast was excellent but I did not dine in the restaurant as I was travelling alone with a dog. Strangely the bar is also off limits to a well-behaved dog too, which is strange, so didn't go in there either. The hotel is huge on different levels and I got lost several times, despite being given a plan. I would advise finding a door and going round the hotel on the outside! If you are from the UK there is only one English news channel on the TV so take and ipod/ipad, especially for music. Everything in the town closes early, so eat and drink early to avoid disappointment.

Great place for retirees
This hotel is a great choice for this area with less than a 1km walk to town. We went for our honeymoon and it was not really appropriate given that the average guest age was 60+. Also they don't really speak good English anywhere in the hotel. Particularly the spa, which was disappointing given that it is sold as a spa town etc etc.

Beautiful setting & great location
Loved the beautiful twin towns of Bad Neuenahr- Ahrweiler, so clean and green with interesting architecture and friendly, polite people. The hotel room was comfortable, breakfast, bar food, restaurant and service excellent. The bathroom was small and in need of updating, still very good value compared with UK hotels though. Our only real disappointment was the pool; apparently it is being repaired. This facility was one of the reasons we picked the Dorint. The hotel should have warned us in advance as there is nothing to inform us on their website.

The best thing about this hotel is the location, it is set next to the river and is in a very pretty park. It takes just a few minutes to walk along the river into Bad Neuenahr and about 30 minutes to Ahrweiler, both are pleasant towns with Ahrweiler being far prettier.
The hotel is dated and very basic for a 4*, the bathrooms are really shabby and the bedroom was little better - this was a 'comfort' room so the standard rooms must be even more basic. This was not room we wanted to linger in and although there was a good size balcony again this was shabby so not somewhere to enjoy a glass of the excellent local wine.
Breakfast was good with a chef making fresh eggs and lots of nice breads and typical continental offerings.
We love this part of Germany and will definitely return but will choose somewhere different to stay next time.
