Great location, lovely staff indeed and food was nice

Nice comfortable stay
Staff were good

6/10 Good

Nice modern, clean and comfortable room. However, I booked because it had a bar and restaurant but both were closed for refurbishment so I couldn’t even get a cup of decent coffee. Should have been advised of this in advance! The TV in room 203 also doesn’t function properly! The tv reception was sketchy at best!

Poor stay
This hotel was closed for refurb when I arrived, so no food or drink available, but the hotel still charged full price and no mention of this when I booked it. I was here around 2 months ago and reported the TV wasn't working then "no signal" problem. Guess what? Same problem on this visit, I have reported it again, not sure if it will ever be fixed. The sink is cracked and there were no clothes hangers in the room. (Think these are available for about £2.99 for 8 sourced locally) The hotel said "oh they are due in today" The hotel appears to be going downhill and is approaching "Britannia " level. It's ok having public areas refurbed, but the rooms need work too.

Reasonable hotel, comfortable,.

8/10 Very good

Disappointed with the food menu, lukewarm food. We had terrible trouble with the door lock, even the staff had problems! The staff were all very friendly and helpful. We would come back.

Cracked bathroom sink High step into bath and no grab rails to support you getting in and out at correct height No bedside sockets Positive comfy bed Too expensive per night for not the best quality standards. Was just convenient for what we needed it for.

Very tidy and clean rooms, lovely food. Nice bar area.

Very pleasantly surprised at everything about this hotel which is not aptly portrayed by the name.
Stephen, 3-night trip

8/10 Very good

Nice location and convenient. Decent VC dining options and room was ok as I paid under £80. However this seemed like a family run hotel and the manager who checked me in was very familiar and called me “mate” on a few occasions and dropped the odd f*#k word into conversations which didn’t offend, but still not professional at checkin desk
Peter, 1-night trip

8/10 Very good

Nice bar. Very limited food menu. Comfortable room and bath room.
Martyn, 3-night trip

Comfortable but past it's sell by
The staff were great and really friendly. The hotel is clean. It is let down by it's condition, it's severely outdated.
Mohammad, 1-night trip

Over all is good
Bilal, 1-night trip

6/10 Good

Friday night was good, Saturday night was unbearably noisy from party revellers and loud music, and cars beeping their horns went on until gone 3 in the morning.
Diane, 2-night trip

8/10 Very good

Great, helpful staff. Noisy at weekends.
The staff - brilliant. Zoya on reception carried my case up and down stairs. Let me borrow a fan heater. Keiran, the bar manager, sorted my food out with the chef (I have a dairy intolerance). The hotel needs upgrading in certain areas. It is a night spot on Friday and Saturday night, my ear plugs dealt with the music, the revellers leaving unbelievable noise for about 40 minutes 3am to 3.40am. I was warned about the music!!!
Phyl, 3-night trip

RICHARD, 1-night trip

unhappy stay
very steep stairs to climb, very noisy through the double glazed windows & a card only payment sorry not a repeat stay for me
John, 1-night trip

2/10 Poor

the was a RAVE on downstairs !!!
The stay was awful, didn't sleep at all. There was a RAVE on until 3am that felt like you where in it in your room. There was no mention when we booked it that there was music event on down stairs. at the end of the day we booked a room above a pub so under stand noise but not a RAVE until early hours of the morning. When we checked in they where doing a sound check and we asked what was going on and the girl laughed. When I mentioned that it didnt state an even on booking she said oh its normally only a Friday Saturday but we doing in on Thursday this week. but no apologies or anything.

Very helpful and friendly staff
The staff were very helpful and friendly. The bed was comfortable. Unfortunately too hot and noisy, as needed the windows open to cool the room a bit. The noise was due to road traffic and it was an unusually hot day
