6/10 Good

Nice hotel but service and upkeep variable
The deluxe room had good quality furnishings and presentation, but just a few things weren't well maintained. The only storage in the room are tiny bedside drawers or two huge drawers in the bathroom. There's no wardrobe and there's no bathmat. The hot water didn't work on arrival night or the following morning. Calls to the 24-hour number just rang out in an office next to reception and nobody answered emails. The problem got (mostly) fixed after 24 hours. That would be very frustrating if you needed urgent help. Breakfast was adequate and consistent. The free tea and coffee wasn't always accompanied by cups to drink it from. With the right expectations, this hotel is a good value stay on the edge of Reykjavik.

Staff at breakfast were so on it, polite & running around helping everyone. Rooms were very basic, like a student halls. 2 single beds pushed together to make 1 bed, but we were given 2 separate duvets. The free tea & coffee etc. was very welcome. Rooms aren't cleaned during your stay, but you can help yourself to clean towels, as & when required.

Accommodation choice
Great hotel! We loved that it was self-service . Very quick and efficient for people who are on the go travelling and taking trips each day. Great range of breakfast choices and lovely and quiet too. Would most definitely recommend.

I stayed here for 3 nights. There are no staff other than limited catering staff on site. Breakfast was a complete nightmare every day due to limited seating andlimited food which ran out as soon as it was delivered

This is basically a self check-in hotel. Very easy. We used a code for the main door and then got the room key from a coded lock box. The room was clean, comfortable and spacious. What was amazing was the wonderful, fresh, whole food breakfast. What a great variety!

Hotel Muli was a great place to stay at after a long day of travel. The bed was comfy, the room was modern and clean, the bathroom was spacious and even had a heating rack. The room ran a bit warm though and we couldnt figure out how to adjust the temperature.

We booked this hotel for our honeymoon. My partner reached out to the hotel to ask if they were able to accommodate anything due to this lifetime event. Perhaps the room we received was an upgrade, but it was not obvious. The hotel is separated into two areas, which seems like 2 hotels that are merging to be one. We were allowed to check in early and getting through the front door without an access code was easy. Our bed frame under our bed was too short for the bed so anytime weight was placed at the end of the bed, it would create an uneven balance. There was a giant pillar to the right of our bed, making accessibility into the right side hard. The wifi was not great and we had to email to get the password for another wifi option as the first wasn’t even accessible in our room - the second was hit and miss. The staff are very responsive, although perhaps not the best at resolving issues. We didn’t realize our room would only be cleaned once throughout our stay, after emailing, we discovered this but the manager offered to clean for us as an exception one more time. The cleaner dropped towels on our bed and left. The first clean the cleaner did not remove our used cups. The breakfast has a good selection - it seemed hit and miss for what food would be there. Some mornings bacon and sausages were readily available, and others, at various times, were not there. Renovations are currently ongoing which caused issues for having the toaster plugged in and accessible.

The check-in process was clear and smooth. Limited parking space around the hotel, especially if you arrive at night. It's a self-serve hotel, so no staff available to help, even though there's a phone at the lobby to contact them (tried it, and it was a fail). The hallways smelled dirty like cigarettes and humidity, but the room itself did not. The room was clean, with the exception of one of the two pillows (which was stained), and the extractor of the bathroom which was full of dust. Hot shower worked great. Laundry room is accessible, and it also serves as a closet with additional linens, towels and extra pillows (but I was not lucky and couldn't get one). One of the mornings, I asked the staff for an extra pillow, she told me they were going to leave it in the room; it did not happen. In comparison to the breakfast buffet across other hotels and guesthouses in Island, this one was very limited. The temperature of the heater in our room could not be changed, so we had to keep the window open (and all the street noise would come in). I was kinda of disappointed with this hotel since my experience in other hotels and guesthouse across the Ring Road was so awesome.
