Chaweng City Center
Chaweng City Centre buzzes with the kind of energy that makes you want to stay up all night and somehow still wake up for sunrise beach yoga. The stunning white sand of Chaweng Beach stretches for days, perfect for alternating between lazy tanning sessions and wild water sports. When the sun sets, the beachfront transforms with fire shows and music while the night market fills with sizzling street food and colourful souvenirs. You'll find everything from fancy seafood restaurants to grab-and-go pad thai stands within walking distance. Getting around is a breeze with songthaews (those red lorry taxis) cruising the main strip, though renting a scooter gives you freedom to explore the quieter corners.

Lamai City Center
Lamai City Centre pulses with energy from its neon-lit bars and aromatic night market. You'll find everything from sizzling street food stalls to beachfront shopping between dips in the turquoise water. Valentine Stone and the famous Hin Ta and Hin Yai Rocks offer unique sightseeing when you need a break from swimming or browsing the market stalls. Beachfront resorts and budget guesthouses inland give you plenty of places to crash after a day of fun. Zip around on rented scooters or catch a songthaew (shared red lorry) along the main beach road to explore the area's hidden corners.

Bophut Hills
Perched high above Koh Samui's coastline, Bophut Hills delivers jaw-dropping panoramic views of the Gulf of Thailand from luxurious private villas and exclusive resorts. The hillside location offers a peaceful retreat from the island's bustling beaches while keeping Fisherman's Village and Chaweng Beach within easy reach. Photographers will go wild for those golden-hour sunset vistas sweeping across the water. Getting around requires wheels – rent a car or brave the steep roads on a scooter if you're feeling adventurous. The dining scene centers around sophisticated resort restaurants with Thai fusion dishes and international cuisine. Most visitors split their time between private infinity pools and day trips to nearby beaches.

Coconut palms frame beaches where the Gulf of Thailand laps at your feet with bathwater warmth. The iconic Big Buddha watches over the island from its perch near Bangrak Beach. Fisherman's Village transforms from sleepy historic quarter to buzzing night market where you can haggle for everything from sarongs to street food. Chaweng Beach offers the full tropical fantasy—white sand, clear water, and beachfront dining. Lamai Beach provides a quieter alternative when Chaweng's energy becomes too much. Venture inland to Paradise Park Farm for panoramic views. Hire a motorbike to discover hidden waterfalls in the rainforest-covered central mountains. Don't miss the sunset from Lipa Noi Beach—it's worth planning your day around.

The Briza Beach Resort, Samui
"We were given a room upgrade on arrival to one of the 2 bedroom villas with private pool. The room was lovely, clean, well appointed and comfortable and the pool was amazing. Whilst it is not a new resort, it is well maintained and clean and the staff are extremely welcoming and friendly. The beach bar happy hour entertainment was also good fun! The resort is also far enough away from the centre of Chaweng town to retain some calmness, although it's only a short walk and still very accessible."

"Todo estuvo muy bien el servicio la atención del personal y la comida."
Chaweng Garden Beach Resort
"The hotel is located right in the middle of the main road, Chaweng Beach Road. Close to Central Samui, massage and day spa salons, restaurants and bar. The hotel is located on the beach, great way to start the day by having breakfast looking out to the beach then enjoying a swim after. The room I stayed in is clean and very quiet, overlooking the garden. Great mix of lush green garden and beach. The staff were friendly and helpful. Really enjoyed my stay here and definitely will book again!"
OZO Chaweng Samui
"Excellent resort, Great beach and facilities. Gym is very small, if that is something you want to use & rooms relatively small, but suffice and all you need. Staff very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was great too. Will definitely be back."
Sheraton Samui Resort
"It was an amazing stay, very family friendly. We stayed for 14 nights with our family and we had only positive experiences in the hotel. We loved the beach, pool, food at Blue Monkey and all the staff were wonderful."
Conrad Koh Samui
"It’s a great place if you want to get away from it all. It’s a bit secluded from the rest of the island, so best if you are planning on staying on the property and make use of their facilities and activities. But there is plenty to do."
The Ritz-Carlton, Koh Samui
"Our stay at the Ritz-Carlton Koh Samui was absolutely exceptional. The resort is stunning, with breathtaking ocean views, beautifully maintained grounds, and luxurious accommodations. Every staff member was warm, welcoming, and went above and beyond to make our stay memorable. The food was delicious, the amenities were top-notch, and the peaceful atmosphere made it the perfect place to relax and unwind. Every detail reflected outstanding service and hospitality. We left with unforgettable memories and can't wait to return. Highly recommend this beautiful resort to anyone visiting Koh Samui!"
Melati Beach Resort & Spa
"Positives: 1) Location is good, next to high end properties. 2) the layout of the hotel is really nice, with lots of greenery, nice lobby and amenities, and spacious rooms. 3) The staff were very helpful and friendly. Responded well to calls and requests. 4) the breakfast is amazing. Lots of high quality items. They have healthy and gluten free options too. Negatives: 1) Whilst Location is good, it has nothing within walkable distance. Others were closer to the shopping areas. You can hear flights over the resort. 2) We were supposed to get 2 single beds for our boys, but got one sofa bed for 2, which wasn't a comfortable one. 3) the AC in the living room wasn't cooling. We had the technicians visiting twice but didn't really fix the issue. 4) the swimming beach is poorly maintained. We hit rocks and sea plants everywhere. No guests could swim. 5) the gym is average. Not a 5* resort standard."
Chaweng Regent Beach Resort
"Excellent stay and near all the amenities"

4 tips for savvy savings when booking a hotel in Koh Samui
- Book for the cheapest times: The most budget-friendly time to visit Koh Samui is during May, June, and November, when hotel prices tend to be lower. For those looking to make the most of their trip, a stay of at least 4 to 5 days is recommended to fully appreciate the island's key landmarks, historical sites, and cultural attractions. This timeframe allows visitors to explore its beautiful beaches, indulge in relaxing spa treatments, enjoy family-friendly activities, and savour local dining options, all while taking advantage of the great value for money that Koh Samui offers. With the potential for prices to drop during these months, it's an excellent opportunity for those travelling on a budget.
- Look for last-minute deals on Hotels.com: To uncover last-minute deals to Koh Samui, begin by exploring the DealsOpens in a new window or Last-Minute Deals sections on Hotels.com, where you may discover discounted hotel rates as your travel date approaches. Consider enabling email alerts or push notifications to stay updated on special promotions and flash sales, ensuring you don’t miss potential savings. Additionally, Smart Shopping is a handy comparison tool available in the app that allows you to compare hotel prices and amenities, so if prices drop or new rooms become available, you could be among the first to book an impromptu getaway.
- Be flexible with dates: Prices can fluctuate depending on various factors, including the hotel's location, star rating, and the time of year. Therefore, being flexible with your travel dates may help you save on your stay at a Koh Samui hotel. For those seeking distinctive experiences, boutique hotels can provide a more personalised touch and, at times, a better value. When you book through Hotels.com, we will inform you whether the price for your chosen dates is above or below the average. If the price appears to be on the higher side, we’ll suggest alternative dates that may be more affordable, helping you to secure the best possible deal.
- Consider your location: Hotels situated near the city centre usually tend to be more expensive. However, with Koh Samui's excellent public transport links, you may discover a more affordable independent hotel located a bit further out that remains well connected. For those keen to explore alternative, less crowded neighbourhoods or even lesser-known nearby towns, there's often exceptional value for money to be found. Opting for these alternative destinations could provide a more authentic and budget-friendly experience.
