Gem of a Place
Spent a sunday night in this delightful hotel an old building renovated and preserving the character. It is very French but the staff are very helpful and speak English. Although the restaurant was closed when we arrived they provided a private buffet for us which was delicious. We had no wants from the staff but you got the feeling nothing was too much trouble. We are planning to return when the restaurant is open, I can not recommend this place more.

Perfect place for quiet time & great day journeys.
These are the reviews I almost don't want to write because I don't share well and want to keep it a secret. On a map the hotel looks very remote but it really is located in a central place. Our trip was originally planned to go to Nantes only to see a former car of mine that is now at Le-Musee and to look for other #KuhlToys for our series. Instead the location lent itself to a much bigger journey to include Le Mans, the Atlantic Coast town of Croisic, Guerande and the Loire Valley Wine Country. A car rental is required. The location is very quiet, and with only 9 rooms you might have a concern about service but don't. The restaurant was open every day at our leisure for breakfast and dinner. The pricing was not much more than dinner in town and the quality was fantastic. After seeing some of the hotels in Nantes and other local villages this was by far the best place to be for a very nice vacation of day trips to different areas. We were able to do a lot of exploring in a short period of time due to the unique location of the hotel. Besides the room, there is a great work/meeting room and a living room that are both very quiet and have great WiFi to bring a laptop and work on your next great novel or screenplay. By American standards, dinner is late, starting at 8pm. If you go out on a day trip it works out perfectly.

Charming old manor house with a very warm welcome
We used this hotel to break up a long journey from my sister-in-law's home, just south of the Dordogne, to our caravan which is stored in Normandy. We received a very friendly welcome and were shown to our room, which was spotless. It was a split-level room, with bed upstairs on a mezzanine floor, and a sitting room, bathroom and toilet on the lower level. Only drawback were the stairs during the night. The room would have benefitted from tea/coffee making equipment. Also, unless all the rooms are exactly the same, maybe they should ask if guests can cope with the stairs. A room all on one level may have suited us better but we have no complaints about this hotel and would stay there again, but maybe not on a Monday as the restaurant was closed (but we had been informed of this).

Gracious living in the French countryside
Located deep in the French countryside, and was not easy to find. Perhaps clearer directions could be given when booking. The setting is marvellous, and utterly peaceful. The building is a fascinating mixture of old and new, beautifully furnished with much antique furniture, yet having such things as a lift. Our room was vast and well furnished, and again equipped with an excellent modern bath-room. The basic price was excellent, but breakfast and the evening meal was too expensive for what was served. The food in the restaurant was original. The quality of service was first-class. Unfortunately, we were not able to explore the gardens, because it rained all the time we were there.

Felt like Lord of the manor
Lovely manor home converted to a hotel. Lots of indoor and outdoor unique public areas to explore. Room was very large by normal standards with beautiful antique and reproduction furniture. Stayed off season so were the only guests even so the breakfast offering was plentiful and varied and the staff very attentive.

A hidden Gem!
We got the real French experience at this Hotel. Three and a half hours from Cherbourg so ideal for an overnight stay or short break. Very helpful and friendly staff with evening meals that you would find in a high quality restaurant. For those considering a French wedding there is a spectacular function room. So good we returned on the return leg of our journey. N.B the manager speaks good English too.
