Great and not so great
Unusual hotel. Great location. Clean and interesting. Lots of windy steps if youre upstairs. We were on the 3rd floor. Lighting in bathroom was poor so hard to do makeup in there. Breakfast was good, but served on the 3rd floor so you have to be able to do steps. Also the same every day. Front desk people spoke minimal English. Overall, nice hotel but not sure I'd stay here again.

Hotel Casa Cid Leon is a unique property from the elaborate antique furnishings to the caring staff who make you feel very welcome. The hotel is perfectly located a couple of blocks from the Zocalo, an easy walk yet removed from the festivities for a quiet evenings. Enrique and Aliana were perfect hosts and Winnie, the hotel pup, greeted us every morning wanting belly rubs. The included breakfast on the terrace was a great way to start the day. We highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a unique and friendly accomadations in Oaxaca.

Great family run boutique hotel.
Fantastic small boutique hotel in Oaxaca. Lots of personal touches from the check-in process to the breakfast cook and staff on the rooftop terrace eating area. It's in the heart of everything, but quiet enough that it's not obvious.
If you're looking for a large hotel, this is not your vibe. But if you're looking for a boutique hotel run by a family with tons of hands on touches and authentic architecture and design + big rooms + AC - - this place is the jam!! Definitely recommend

I stayed a week with my husband and 3 kids. The hotel is perfectly located near the city center. They provide parking for a vehicle if you decide to rent one, which is so convenient because parking in the city is very difficult to find. The breakfast is included and so delicious. The staff was so friendly and went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. They even cooked my kids an atole and tea when they got sick half way through the trip. Super attentive. Would stay here again if we ever go back to beautiful Oaxaca.

Charming stay
This is an amazing hotel! Being able to stay here has made our visit in Oaxaca all the more enjoyable. It’s located blocks away from the Zocalo and walkable to many areas in centro Oaxaca. The rooms are unique and very comfortable. So much love and care went into the architecture and decor. Breakfast on their terrace is included and you will leave full and ready for a day of adventure. The service is first class and the staff here has gone above and beyond to meet all our expectations. We have traveled all over the world and this hotel has made our top 5 list. We will return when we visit again.

We very much enjoyed our stay! Wish we could give it 4.5. The staff-particularly in the restaurant- was wonderful. So accommodating and friendly. The location is excellent. Our room was great. Comfortable and everything you’d need. A little noisy because it’s on a busy street. Why do people honk so much here? 😊Definitely recommend.

Very unique rooms with antique tea sets and chandeliers, making it feel like you are in another era. It was overall very fun experience. Accommodations sometimes were not immediately obvious, but the staff is super nice, very accommodating and all our wants were mot. Also we had a rental car and there is no assigned parking or valet, but the staff made sure we had a place to park in front every day. It just took a bit of maneuvering.

Overall, we enjoyed our stay at this hotel Very much. Our room was on the 3rd floor at the same level as the restaurant/bar. It was a comfortable large room that was beautifully furnished. We also enjoyed breakfast, lunch and drinks at the lovely rooftop restaurant. A couple of things to note: The only way to get to our room was up a winding staircase. It would have been challenging for people with mobility issues. Also, the staff doesn’t speak very much English. This wasn’t a problem for me because I speak some Spanish, but it could be a bit challenging for travelers who speak no Spanish.

This charming but slightly quirky small hotel was an ideal place from which to visit Oaxaca. It is located between the Zocala and the trendier tourist streets with great restaurants. The room was huge and decorated with lots of interesting items. It is from at least the 1500s, with thick walls and lots of religious art and icons. The staff is friendly and helpful. Our room had no windows as it was at the back of the building on the first floor, but was very quiet and well-lit. The wifi was strong and fast. There were a large TV and small refrigerator, which we did not use. It helps if one speaks a bit of Spanish, but it's not necessary. I would definitely stay here again, but maybe in one of the other rooms with windows.
