Anywhere but Michigan City Inn
I can't imagine anyone staying staying at the Michigan City Inn for ANY reason. As I entered their driveway there was someone at my window asking for spare change. There was no one at the front desk to check you in and a clerk from the motel next door came over to check me in. Everything was extremely filthy and thee were very few lights that worked in the hallways. There seemed to be a criminal element hanging around in the hallways involved in prostitution and/or drugs, The room they wanted to put me in hadn't been serviced in any way with unmade beds and filthy flooring and bathroom fixtures. I left as soon as I could as I was worried about being assaulted or worse. The pool area was totally dark with people just hanging out in the pool area. There were plenty of other places nearby that were clean and safe to stay at. The Michigan City Inn is an out-of-business Ramada Inn that may be in the process of being renovated but is not safe or clean enough for anyone to stay in.

We saw roaches and left. Holes in the bathroom, no toilet paper roll holder, and they didn’t even have my reservation on file. I got the last room there. Stay elsewhere. I recommend the Microtel Inn across the street. Much cleaner and happier.

The place had cobwebs in the windows. The bedside tables and the refrigerator in our room were filthy. The curtains were disgusting. You could see daylight under the room door. The pictures on the website made it look beautiful but the place was not at all what they advertised. The doors to outside were not secure.

We came and the place was unsafe and run down. The furniture was filthy, and the door didn’t work and and the lock didn’t work. There were stains and cobwebs . The manager didn’t want to give us a new room or new keys, had to walk down a dark alley way hallway to get into room: don’t have any toiletries. Room wasn’t safe and lock didn’t open and management didn’t give us a new room

We requested two connecting rooms. The door knob of one room was broken, so it couldn’t be opened. One room did not have a shower curtain or a working hair dryer. Overall appearance of the place was that it was rundown.

The building looked abandoned, the parking lot was empty and overgrown with weeds. We drove around the MOTEL and the curtains were hanging off the rods and it was so disgusting and sketchy that we didnt even get out of the vehicle.

This hotel was filthy and so run down that I ended up relocating to a new hotel within minutes of checking into my room at the Ramada Inn. My room did not even have a proper door sign, instead the room number was written on the wall in Sharpie and resembled something out of a horror film.

Read the reviews, do not book it.
We did not stay at this hotel. When we pulled in it looked abandoned, the outside trash cans were overflowing, landscaping was very unkept. We drove to the building next to it hoping that was the Ramada but it wasn’t. The other hotels in the area looked much better and we stayed at one of them. Sadly we did not read the reviews before booking. Do not recommend this hotel and we would like a refund.

This was a last minute stop for us, as it was late in the evening when we stopped. The hotel lobby was bright and nice, but walking to our room the hall was poorly lit, we got a different room as the tv didn’t work in our original room. The floor was not clean, the pool area was not lit, and the pool was green. The hot tub was barely Luke warm and cloudy. When we tried to lock the door the deadbolt would not lock, so we pushed the table against the door. Some of the lights did not work. When leaving in the morning the door handle to the exit door fell off in my husbands hand, as the left the grounds were untidy and unkept, if it would have been daylight we would have driven past this hotel. I will say the staff was friendly.
