How to get to Hamburg

Hamburg Airport has regular flights arriving from across Germany and the rest of Europe. It’s just 20 minutes north of the City Center, with taxis waiting outside to take you to your destination. If you want to avoid the traffic, then taking the train is one of the easiest and cheapest options for your transfer. From the airport take the train to Ohlsdorf, and then change for the service to Hamburg Central Station (Hamburg Hauptbahnhof). This takes less than half an hour, and trains run regularly from early until late. One of the easiest ways to get around the city is by using the extensive Metro system, and from Hamburg Central Station you can get to popular tourist areas such as St. Pauli U-Bahn in minutes.
