Things to see in Shibuya

Neighborhoods don’t come much more diverse than Shibuya which totally embraces the eclectic, cool, and offbeat side of Tokyo. Shibuya is the hub of Tokyo’s street fashion culture where anything goes and Shibuya gals sport avant-garde and outlandish outfits unique to this part of the world—it’s the perfect spot for people watching! Tokyo’s answer to Time Square can be found at the Shibuya Pedestrian Crossing, be prepared for controlled chaos and an exciting mix of bright lights, neon signs, and lively crowds. This is the Tokyo we see on the big screen, with buildings lit up with huge advertising boards and streets lined with wide-ranging boutiques, shop, clubs, and bars. A little serenity can be found at the Meiji Jingu, a traditional Japanese shrine honoring the Great Emperor Meiji. Housed in quiet gardens, visitors will get a true sense of the Japanese cultural heritage that still has a strong presence in today’s society.
