    Cannot fault it
Location is great - 10min walk to Shibuya crossing/station and the included breakfast is a great way to start the day. Rooms are basic but have everything you need, we had the private bathroom which made a difference for comfort. We would easily stay there again.

    Very Good 8.0
    Very hip aesthetic
Simple place for a room to crash (but not really hang-out in; no TV)... Efficient & accommodating staff; stored our bags for a few hours while we wandered the neighborhood before check-in... Delicious coffee & breakfast at place downstairs.

    Fair 4.0
    Almost hostile place
The hotel is extremely sterile with a glossy white floor, white walls and very bright and cold light that makes you feel to be in a mental facility. There is nothing superfluous and could almost be considered as a modern art project. For me, this is not a place to stay at, at best to sleep over, as the bed was very nice. The staff was rather chill as the hotel itself.

    great stay, awesome hotel
I had a very nice stay. hotel is geared towards younger travelers. front desk staff was proficient in english, which is always helpful. rooms were on the small side and floors seemed a little dirty but i think that's a part of their industrial aesthetic. they have laundry machines here but you will need to provide your own laundry detergent. the area was great, off a quieter street in shibuya, about a 10 minute walk from shibuya crossing. would definitely stay again.

    A pleasant and well-designed hostel
We chose Mustard for its location being close and walkable to so many neighborhoods - Shibuya, Aoyama, Daikanyama. The room was small but clean, and we had all the necessities (sink in the room, luggage storage under the bed, clothes hangers, nightstand). The shared bathrooms were also clean. Staff was friendly and helpful. We even got free vouchers for their cafe - and the food was delicious!

    Good 6.0
Our party of 6 spent three nights at the Mustard whilst in Tokyo and stayed in a 6 bed dorm. The room was very small and we could not access our suitcases at the same time due to limited floor space; they only just fitted standing up with one or two open. The mattresses & pillows are comfy but the ladders to the top bunks are badly designed and hurt your feet. The hallway has neon lights which stay on all night - very bright and horrible to go to the toilet during the night - such a bad design! The hallway, shared bathrooms and dorms are white and so they looked pretty dirty with all the marks - the bathroom could do with more regular cleaning - quite dusty & lots of hair on the floor. Breakfast was good - however, you get a 700 yen voucher per morning which covers a basic breakfast and drip coffee - if you want latte and eggs Benedict for example, you have to pay more to top it up. Reception staff were lovely, very helpful and informative.

Nice location.. Is it a Hostal or a Hotel?
The location, is great 10-15 min walk from Shibuya in a local quiet neighbourhood. The hotel, struggles to decide whether it is a hostal or a hotel. The rooms are very mediocre for the price but are clean, there are no TV's in the room. Nice roof top terrace where you can sit and drink. Nice cafeteria with excellent food beside reception. Just dont be late checking out, they will try and charge you extra for being 30 mins late.
