Nice B&B close to the old town of Matera
Great place, sort of underground, in the modern town center of Matera, just above the old city and the world-famous caves and rock dwellings. Michele is a very pleasant host and guides you down the narrow alley to the parking spot. The room was nice, clean, and modern and the bathroom was spacious. Breakfast (Italian style) was served at a local bar/resto just a few steps from the B&B. I’d stay there again if I happen to visit Matera again which I sure hope will be possible in the coming years.

Il Nespolo is located in an ideal position to visit Matera's main attractions. The owner, Michele, was incredibly helpful in suggesting what to visit and where to eat. We wouldn't have seen as much without his help.

Michele is a fantastic host. He came to collect us from the place where we had arrived and took us to the accommodation. I recommend you contact him prior to arriving to ensure you agree where to meet otherwise it would be difficult to find using google maps. Saying that the accommodation is perfectly situated very close to the main piazza and main sites. Michele also recommended and arranged a walking tour which was far cheaper than those I tried to book online. The accommodation is very comfortable and clean and the room is authentic and in keeping to what you want to see in Matera. Come to Matera and stay here!

Close to everything. The Matera walk is just around the corner. Breakfast is up and around the road where you’ll be escorted. The host, Michele, was wonderful and so obliging. Not much English spoken but you can get the gist of what he’s trying to communicate. The female staff spoke English very well. Parking available, which was a relief!
