The level of cleanliness was disappointing. I stayed for 4 nights (Wed -- Sat), and the common areas (outside elevator; hallways) were never vacuumed. I saw the same trash on my hallway floor every day when I exited my room. There was also no water provided by the room; I often had to resort to drinking out of the tap in the bathroom. I expected to have water provided by the hotel and refreshed daily (for this level of accommodation). The young people working the front desk were really nice & helpful. Similarly, the people working the bar at the rooftop pool were also really lovely.

My teenage daughter and I had an amazing stay at the Viceroy. We loved having Carrie the Tuk Tuk driver take us to the Navy Pier one day. Great restaurants so close by. Room was exceptionally clean and comfortable. Great fitness room and pool as well. We can’t wait to come back.

Fantastic service and beautiful hotel with a great location within steps of shops and restaurants. Late night tacos available next door was great too after 2 nights of concerts! The valet service was superb, Jose was very friendly, trustworthy and courteous!

Friendly staff, unique interior, could be better
Check in was fast, smooth, and easy (despite of the early arrival we had). Initial impression was great interior and pleasant. Staff was friendly. Once inside the room (1212), my girls noticed the tub was not at its best condition. It needs some re-caulking and proper cleaning on the edge (surrounding) of the tub. They preferred "the other" hotel's tub to relax and bathe in (we're in town and staying in multiple hotels throughout downtown). I find it odd that we needed to address cleanliness/ maintenance with the overnight price we paid. I didn't bother to think too much. We then went to the rooftop pool. My 9 yo loved going under water. She was unfortunately finding pieces of trash from the bottom of the pool. This was around 12-1pm. She picked up a used straw and handed it to me. I quietly put it away. Not long after, she picked up another piece of trash (looked like used napkin/ paper towel of some kind), and I was quite disgusted. I told her to just put it by the side of the pool. We managed to move on and forget about these incidents, so we could enjoy and relax. In the morning, the room service did not deliver the right food. It was a simple toast (bread and bagel). We had to wait for the right toast to deliver. We appreciated the extra toast, but honestly did not need it. We just expected a bit more out of the overall service from Viceroy.

Beautifully designed, comfortable hotel
I was very happy with my room at the Viceroy. It is well designed with very intelligently considered details, high quality, comfortable furnishings and fabric choices. The view is stunning from the 10th floor especially during a thunder and lightening storm. The amenities were well considered as well. Only drawback was accessing the front desk - they seem to route the calls outside of the hotel so lots of being put on hold waiting to speak with a local representative.
