Friendly and helpful hosts make for a great stay.
Polperro is a very friendly and peaceful seaside town with great restaurants and pubs. The Old Millhouse being one of them. The hosts couldn’t be more helpful and friendly. The rooms are clean and comfortable with the necessary amenities. My only negative comment is that the walls between the rooms are thin which therefore lacks a little privacy!!! That said I would certainly stay there again, and thoroughly recommend it.

Sorry but we wouldn’t stay here again.
The rooms are very dated and could do with refurbishment. We were there for one night so it was ok. No automatic lights so when we arrived we had to go up a dark stairway. There was a 1 inch gap under the door to the room. The bathroom door was difficult to open, needed a good shove. The window was warped and difficult to open and close. Breakfast was ok but the dining area had loads of cobwebs hanging in the vaulted ceiling and appeared to be being used as a store room. The pictures on hotels.com do exaggerate the quality of the accommodation.

A visit to Polperro
10 minute walk from a carpark on the edge of the village as no parking at the hotel but was provided with a parking pass so no costs incurred .This was collected by a brief drive into the village to drop luggage to collect the pass before going back to the carpark .Accommodation reached by a side door up 3 short flights of stairs. Room was basic and a little dated but very clean. Hosts were away on our arrival but were back by the time we had breakfast . Had a great night in the village pubs all very friendly but didn’t eat there in the evening because we had visited nearby Looe earlier in the evening and ate at the black swan which was lovely. Had a good nights sleep at the Millhouse the bed was very comfortable .There was music in the pub in the evening which could be heard slightly in the room but finished aroun 11pm. There was also noise from the maseraters used in the toilets and a shower pump that woke us quite early from the adjacent room but I believe due to the plumbing needs of the building was unavoidable and as we were only staying overnight was not to much of an issue. The hosts were lovely and breakfast was great. We would be happy to stay again and revisit this very friendly picturesque village .

Pleasant but a bit run down.
Friendly couple running the hotel and overall good value but the place needs a good deal of sprucing up and general repairs. With a bit of investment it would be a lovely place to stay.

Polperro - Coastal Character
The Old Millhouse Inn in coastal Polperro has character a plenty. Initially hard to find, but there are signs at the top car park via an old yellow mini and also close the Inn but on arrival with many people arriving it can be a little tricky. Just ask and everyone knows its location. Centrally located in town and not far from the sights, shops, restaurants and bars. In fact start with the inhouse bar/restaurant which was very busy during our visit but still able to squeeze us in. Our room 2 was comfortable and had all the necessities of a comfortable stay with wifi access in the room and in the bar areas. The bathroom renovation appeared almost complete and was functional. Management were friendly and most helpful. Breakfast varied with hot and cold options. You would not be wanting.
