Entrance smells bad. Public areas look really old. Room is in good condition and nice, although small.

Charming Hotel With Some Annoying Quirks
It's an older hotel, but actually very charming and well decorated. Room was spacious and totally clean. Bed was very comfortable. Wifi, tv, bathroom all worked well. A few annoying quirks though: There was almost no lighting in the room - I needed to do some work at the desk and there was no lamp, just a little light in the front of the room, and the desk was quite small. Also, the bathroom light is connected to a vent that is extremely loud. And putting out a can of instant coffee and hot pot doesnt count as "providing coffee." A nice place in DC for a night or two, but not ideal for getting work done, and they gotta fix the bathroom noise situation.

Our room was very small, but clean. Street noise was loud. No mini fridge or coffee maker in the room.

Older hotel in a great location
This is an interesting hotel - it's old and worn down but everything worked and it's reasonably comfortable. The rooms are small but have everything you need. The location is great if you are doing business or just sightseeing in DC (near Metro and the Mall). The price was quite reasonable (about half of the hotels around the block) and it's perfectly fine for a brief stay where you won't be in the room much. Post Pub right around the corner is a friendly place to go for a beverage.
