Beds are a little “springy”, and the pillow was small. Dorms are dorms. But wonderful staff, in a great area, with a sweet coffee shop. Been here on a few different occasions, and I will keep coming back. This place is consistent. I recommend the “single bed” if you have a few extra bucks.

Feels like home
Located just 4 minutes away from Asakusabashi, this hostel is conveniently located across other popular landmark like Sensoji temple. Friendly staff who upgrade our room for free. Feels more like a homely apartment than a hostel. Highly recommended.

overall its a great experience but i wish you can add up a little more security like having locks on the doors because the whole night we felt unsecured because someone might sneak in and grab our belongings

Ok place if you only need a bed & shower water
This is a ok to stay. It is right down the street from the train station and a 7-11 and there are food around the hostel but all these food close early. Service is ok, as I don't really need any cleaning but not all their bathroooms are stock with handsoap. I have long hair so my biggest concern is the shower. Standard shower system so yes there is hot water (the hostel I stayed at in Feb did not) but the shower head is wayyyy too weak that it is important to take a shower, and it is near impossible to wash your hair. The breakfast is a joke. They let you get a drink and 3 items... mini sausage, scramble eggs and meatball. One staff gave me the eggs, another staff came and told me it was for another person and spoon 2/3 out of my plate in my seat. Staff can speak English.

Never to stay again!
Unfortunately I did NOT enjoy my 4 nights stay with East57. The staffs working here are definitely not welcoming by any basic Japanese standards. The bed was so springy that I could feel it running through every rib of mine. The walkway is also very congested for big luggages. It is also my first time being charged for luggage storage prior to my flight. The ONLY good thing about this hostel is the location. If you have some little extra budget, may consider many other choices around Asakusa, instead of East57!
