Blue Bay Cottage

Property was well taken care of, the rooms were god sized and very clean. Owner lived on sight and was very accessible.

We stayed at Blue Bay Cottage for 5 nights over New Years. It is a nice place, very clean and less than a year old. The first 2 days of our stay there was no running water due to a problem with the island’s water supply. I understand that is not a usual problem , but a failure with the island water pump. It was fixed during our stay But we also experienced power cuts daily , so not able to have AC every day. I have since found out that the electricity on the island has been a problem for some time. It was around 80 degrees and humid so we did miss the AC and ability to use fans at times. Other than those problems we did enjoy our stay , went on a snorkeling trip to the Ho Chan Marine Preserve and swam with nurse sharks and sting rays! The food on the island is very good, grilled fish and lobster was excellent. One of our favorites was the Italian restaurant Pasta Per Caso, stop in to make reservations there.

It was a fabulous place to stay. I would highly recommend it and we'll definitely be back. Frances was very helpful and accommodating. He even provides bikes for you to use while on the island; which is the best way to get around unless you want to pay for the taxi golf carts or rent your own golf cart. The cottage itself was well maintained and perfect for a couple!

The place is great, service was exceptional, room was very comfortable. The only issue was over a stained sheet. If they would have just changed it without question there wouldn't have been an issue, but the owned went on and on about how the stain got there. He needs to remember that the customer is always right. The less said about that sheet would have been best.

We really enjoyed this place. If you are looking for a quieter place to stay out of the main strip this is a great place. The owner is very welcoming and very helpful too. We rented a golf cart to go as we pleased. We really recommend blue bay cottage

Amazing place to stay in Caye Caulker! The photos don’t do justice to how great Blue Bay Cottage and exceptionally clean Francis keeps the place! The A/C is brand new and will keep you cool in the hot weather. The amenities are great: the place provides 2 bicycles (great for cruising around town – better than golf carts!), a 5-gallon water jug, and paddleboards to use. The back yard has a great dock where you can dive into the water as well. The location on the island was ideal: close enough to be a short bike ride into the restaurants and bars, but far enough to provide peace and quiet. Definitely stay here if you’re coming to Caye Caulker!

The cottage was updated, clean and beautiful. It was perfect for our stay. The host, Francis was very nice and helpful. The place is quiet and perfect for watching the sunset. I would definitely recommend this lovely place.

First, thank you to Francis and his family for sharing their wonderful place with us. My husband and I stayed here the first week of October for our Anniversary and couldn’t have been more pleased. Our room seemed brand new and everything was very clean. Everything we needed during our stay was available. We didn’t cook much but if we wanted to, everything was there. The bed and bedding was very comfortable. What we enjoyed most was the peace and quiet. The location is close to all the action but quiet and relaxing for enjoying the early mornings and evenings. We even made use of the bikes that are provided....we hadn’t rode bikes in years! Francis was a wonderful host and made us feel very welcomed. We hope to make it back to Caye Caulker and if we do, we will definitely come back here.

Francis and his family were gracious hosts who made us feel very welcome at Bay Blue Cottages! We had a marvelous time diving and visiting the beautiful island of Caye Caulker in celebration of our 35th anniversary! I would highly recommend Bay Blue Cottages! Everything was very clean, modern, and safe!
