The owners were very nice & served me a lovely breakfast. I didn't realise when I booked my stay that my room would be on the 3rd floor & 35+ steps to go up & down with my 2 dogs each time I needed to take them out. Also the bathroom I shared was on the 2nd floor. Not the owners fault. But if you don't want to do allot stairs book a room with a private bathroom. Those are on the 2nd floor.
The breakfast was top notch, everything was home made and delicious. The details of the house itself and the furniture/insides of the house were Beautiful. I felt safe and comfortable through out the whole house.
This B&B is a unique place! Feels like you're staying in a museum. Amazing decor, antiques and fireplace. It is amazing what the owners are doing to restore the pace. I loved it!
Worth every penny. The breakfast was incredible!! The house is old and worn and perfect. It was what I expected from a house built in 1883. Very historic. Room was big and bed was comfortable. If you want modern and pristine, go somewhere else. If you want a home away from home at a great price, this is the place.
Inside was absolutely stunning. Loved each and every room. Breakfast was wonderful. The outside needs lots of work, but I know they are updating that
Beautiful inside, antiques haven! Bedrooms very private, beds very comfortable and food was excellent! Hostess friendly it is a gem!
This is the only place I will ever stay when I'm in Dubuque. Best experience ever.
Spent the weekend, the breakfast was beyond expectations. We stayed in the blue room which had so much detail. Still under renovation and the owners were very accommodating.
We visit Dubuque for our anniversary. We decided to stay at Richards House. We loved old houses, historic and with character. We did not get wrong . The place inside is spectacular. Everything is so beautiful. The details of the historical touch , everywhere you look is just breathtaking. Beautiful design of furniture, doors , lamps , pictures , arts . We came there first of that day so we could choose the room. With it was nice because we were able to see all the others room . All beautiful. The host give a tour around the house and give us a quick story about the previous owners and the history of this place. There is a fridge stuck with sodas and wines plus amazing homemade cookies . Next morning breakfast was spectacular as well. The lady served us all kind of homemade goodies 😊. The place is quite and pleasant. The house out side is under construction so needs lots of work with they are working on it . If you don’t care of the look out side I will definitely go in and give an a try. And you will be amazed of the secret hiding inside. It’s a close to the downtown beautiful restaurant. I will highly recommend if you here for nice quiet night or two.
We really enjoyed the stay. Comfortable bed, loved the claw tub & the provided toiletries. Delicious breakfast, friendly service, very accommodating. One thing I'd recommend is have a bigger sign with the Name so it can be seen & read easily.
