Lammas Park House is a gem in Dawlish and an excellent guest house. Ou hosts, Fiona and Rob, were efficient, friendly and not over-bearing, and their guest house is run in much the same way. Each of their rooms is named - ours was 'Oxford' - and the room could only be described as gigantic. The king sized bed was very comfortable and there were plenty of amenities, plugs etc. as well as a large screen TV with FreeSat. The huge bonus was the extensive sea view as well as the views of surrounding Dawlish from the room.
The bathroom/dressing room was equally huge and the one thing we found slightly odd was that in a bathroom that size, there was no bath, only a shower (the room could comfortably accommodate both).
Breakfast was very good indeed with a sensible menu with enough variations for most appetites with all food cooked fresh. The Lammas Special breakfast of Smoked Salmon, Rosti and Poached Eggs is a must.
Lammas Park House is very close to the Dawlish Strand and its shops. Pubs are a bit of a mixed bag so I'd probably avoid those, but local restaurants including 'The Smugglers Inn' on the Teignmouth Road are worth checking out. Be aware though that locals tend to eat earlier so getting tables beyond 8:30, especially if you're trying to book last minute, can be challenging. Finally a shout out to Dawlish Cabs who were fast, efficient and well priced.
We'll definitely book to stay here again. Great room, nice people and a memorable weekend.
