Be weary of fees and construction work
Just know before you book with the hotel, the pet fee is now $200 and no longer $75 like what is listed on this site. Also the valet parking is the only option for parking, no other lots near by. The hotel staff was pleasant and the room was comfortable. They were doing a lot of construction work on the building so that was a nuisance, especially with pets.

The location is great - just 1 block off of King Street for shopping and restaurants. There was a small bar and the bartender was friendly and lots of fun. They also had free breakfast, which was good for a quick bite before heading out for the day. The parking was valet and they charged $32 per day; the valet staff were responsive and retrieved car quickly. The rooms were nice and spacious but the condition of the room and housekeeping staff definitely needs improvement. The carpet had stains on it and the wall covering was coming off the wall in one area. Our room was cleaned 2 times during our 4 day stay so we had to go to the front desk to get extra coffee and towels. The 2nd time they cleaned, they left no towels or bath mat at all...it was a good thing we were leaving on an early flight and didn't have time to shower. One day, there was a pile of dirty towels left outside our door - these were not ours because our room was not cleaned that day. I let the front desk know and no one ever came to pick them up. They were still there in the morning. I need to do a little research, but I believe I paid for a larger room than what was given to me so I will be following up with Expedia and the hotel on that issue.

Within walking distance to shops, restaurants, bars and the sights and sounds of downtown historic Charleston. It's also close to Folley Beach which is wonderful! Staff was always super friendly and breakfast was always good.
