Very old-fashioned style - no technology from recent decades. Good restaurant and good service

Fun Valentine’s Day weekend
Property was fun (old-timey and unique artwork), in a convenient part of Dupont Circle close to the metro, and the food was excellent—we enjoyed breakfast and brunch both mornings of our stay. The bed in our room could have used more pillows since the ones there were flat. The mattress was uncomfortable and resulted in back and neck pain when we woke up. Car horns outside could be heard late at night from the room. Because the shower did not have a shower curtain or rod for one in place, we had to mop up water that had sprayed out during each of our showers. Overall though, we were pleased and plan to come back to the restaurant.

Exceptional 10.0
Unique, quirky, charming, & friendly.
Super warm and responsive staff. Comfortable bed. Vintage charm. Very unique space and rooms. Love the common areas and my room. Shower could be better and there are quirks that come with uniqueness, but in all, met expectations and loved it. Also great, convenient location to business and residential neighborhoods. Also, I really like their business model and the restaurant food was delicious! Fresh fruit, well made eggs, good coffee.

Quaint not great inn with excellent restaurant
I didn't know in advance I would have a shared bathroom. I appreciate what they're going for with keeping things quaint, but to some extent it felt like it was at the expense of comfort and reasonable convenience. Given the low price and location, though, and the fact that the restaurant and bar were great, it was but too bad.

Old, New, Sassy and Wonderful
Our second stay at Tabard Inn and, again, unlike anyplace else. From the gracious and always helpful front desk staff who work to make everything right, to the quirky rooms with antique furniture and creaky floorboards, to the wild artwork and photos on the walls, to the terrific restaurant (including discount coupons for guests), we just love Tabard Inn. It’s not just a place to rest your head for the night, but an experience worth traveling for in itself. Perhaps not for everyone, but coming here feels to us like coming home. Can’t wait for our next stay
