I'd stay there again
Ben was at the front desk the evening of my arrival and was so helpful and friendly. He was personally attentive to any needs I had once I checked into my room and fortunately, he was on duty every night when I returned to my room. The only downside to my stay was that I found the bed to be very uncomfortable and there was no top sheet; just a duvet and it was far too warm for that. However, all it took was one phone call to the front desk in the morning and the woman attending the front desk was in my room within minutes to bring extra pillows and sheet. Problem solved! Every staff member I encountered couldn't have been any kinder or more professional. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone. Although I didn't dine upstairs, I did walk up to the outdoor rooftop restaurant/bar and it was lively and had a great view. Quiet neighborhood, off the beaten path but close enough to walk to the national mall. Overall great experience.

hotel hive insensitive to those living with hiv
ibooked a room at the hotel hive excited to stay because i ahve had drinks there before loved the place and had never actually stayed overnigt. i decided to take a wellneeded night in the city so booked a room. on my drive to dc from norfolk i received many many many covid alerts on my cell phone with regards to visting washington and they said that there was a huge spike in cases and you would have to quarentine for fourteen days i called the hotel and booking.com to say i would not be checking in for i have an immune deficiency disorder due to hiv neither booking.com nor the hotel hive would refund my room charge of 125 dollars. i think that is incredibly insenstive. i was told that since this alert had been out for a few days they would not do so. i am not from the district had no idea of this alert and was appauled by the insensitivity of the matter. if the problem is not resolved and my card credited for the room i will move forward and make a little bit of a stink. does the hotel hive think it okay for those living with hiv to possibly put themselves at risk for covid 19 simply bc they were not prevy to an alert in a city in which they dont live. brandon pope ...i mean really, the rep from the hotel could at the very least offered to rebook me a room for a later date when safer.

A true gem in the heart of DC!
This hotel exceeded my expectations beyond belief. The rooms were so clean and offered just the right amount of space. I love the concept of a micro-hotel and this place is perfect. It was also aesthetically pleasing as I am into the minimal and clean look. The natural light coming in was amazing!! The staff were really friendly and helpful as well. This is already my favorite place after one stay. I’ll be sure to come back!!

Awesome!
We had a 4 day stay Hotel Hive and it was superb. The hotel itself is small (as expected), but it’s a clean unique boutique hotel. The people who work there were super courteous and nice. There is a $50 deposit that is refunded back to you when at checkout. The hotel is really close and is in walking distance to all of the tourists attractions and monuments. I will definitely stay here again.

Very unique hotel - designed for sleeping.
Very unique hotel, designed for sleeping, but not hanging out in your hotel room. Rooms are small but comfortable and clean, decor is spare, and essentials provided in an eco-friendly manner (no bar soap, but shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and hand wash offered in pump containers in shower and on sink).Bed was a bit hard for my taste, but pillows were comfortable.

Would nest at the Hive again
Super funky vibe, minimalist room. &pizza and full-service bar/restaurant within the hotel. My room was down the hall from the bar but not terribly noisy. The only problem that I had was only a minute of hot water before the shower ran lukewarm and the front desk attendant offered me coffee and breakfast on the house when I let her know.

The Hive a wonderful gathering spot
It is a charming hotel with a wonderful vibe. They call it a micro hotel but there is plenty of space. I’ve stayed in smaller places. It was modern, clean, light and airy and the rooms had a Scandinavian feel. The downstairs provides a wonderful gathering spot connected to a very popular pizzeria where people ate inside and out. The front desk staff was lovely and very helpful. Had a very nice vibe. The location is fabulous. Foggy Bottom is a walking town. Just a couple of blocks from the metro. One can walk everywhere!
