Very disappointing -do read
Very disappointing. Arrived to be told €50 (2 nights @ €25pp) for providing service. It was not mentioned at time of booking, but was highly in an email sent two hours before my arrival. I was flying in at that time! €100 deposit in CASH only, despite it saying credit cards accepted on the booking. Room was unlike pics, towels had holes, no toilet paper, soap or shampoo. I woke to find my bathroom flooded - even though I had only brushed my teeth the night before. There was no lift, whilst the breakfast room remained in darkness. Check out was by 8.00am or €35 per hour surcharge. The hotel was cheap, but that does not excuse poor standards or attempts to rip people off. One saving grace was the guy in reception (wore glasses), who I saw twice. He was more understanding and appeared sympathetic.

First under no circumstances were we told that we had to pay €150 on arrival for services and taxes. Second the first room that we checked into was stinking of cigarettes smoke, the lights not all worked, in the bathroom the shower door was broken and only had on door on it, water water would run out like a tap. We asked for a change of room and the reception offered the next room, on arrival the water heater was dripping water from both sides, one side onto the floor resulting in a puddle, the other side was dripping Into the hair dryer ( which we only noticed the next morning), the shower also didn’t work properly. As a result we asked to move again which the reception said there was no other rooms and that MAYBE in the morning there might be a chance as they were full. As the hotel seemed to be empty we decide to forget the trouble of talking again with reception as communication in English was very difficult as no one really seemed to speak English, as decided to check out that morning. No refund of car parking which I paid extra as a result of having to be crazy to drive in the city (seem at least eight crashes in 1 1/2 days) parking was only a space behind the building. All together can’t possibly rate this hotel as zero is not low enough. Don’t get me wrong, Albania is a beautiful and exciting country.

We booked a large family room that claimed to sleep 6, have 2 bathrooms, and at least 1 large bed and 2 smaller beds. When checking in, the concierge seemed extremely unhappy to be helping us. There was some confusion over the 12000 LEK cash deposit that was required. He sent us to our room, which was a tiny room with 1 bed. Not what we had asked for. We showed our confirmation number and what we had paid for. He sent us to another room after having to charge his phone for a bit. This was a larger room with still 1 bed and now an odd shaped couch. The air conditioning wasn’t working either. We called the property manager and were told they’d call us back. One of the men who worked there came to tell us he has another room. We told him the A/C wasn’t working and he said “yeah”. He then gave us another small room with 1 large bed and 1 small bed. Still not what we asked for but we needed a place to stay so we took it. The shower didn’t have a wall or curtain and there was simply a tiny, broken ledge. Water went everywhere. The door to the balcony had a large piece of broken glass missing on the outside. The man who gave us the room said “yes, but it’s on the outside”. Very unprofessional, with bad service, and no help whatsoever. It seemed like pulling teeth to even ask a question.

Absolutely awful!
I would not stay here again if you paid me to. First of all, I was told that my original booking here had been changed because they were fully booked, despite reserving and paying for my room over 2 months ago. I didn't find out about this until I was in the taxi they had booked to pick me up at the airport and the driver told me. The driver advised that the new hotel was close by, but when we arrived I discovered it was actually a 35 minute walk away from where I originally wanted to stay. They then had the nerve to try and charge me an extra €75!!!! I believe they were trying to rip me off because it was a late (midnight) check in and they thought inhad no other option but thankfully I did.
